Is there a cheaper way to get a puppy for less from a breeder? I heard that you can buy a dog that isn't perfect for showing, for less money. Is this true, and is it a good idea?
(i'm looking for a bernese mountain dog, and they run for $1000. yikes!)

Pedigrees without their papers for some reason.
Try the dog-breed clubs and breed rescue organisations. They look after dogs that are victims of circumstance, e.g. death, divorce. You might just be lucky and find they have a puppy to re-home.

There are quality pets from reputable breeders for a lesser price. Not much less, but less just the same.

With a reputable breeder, alot goes into the litter whether you get a pet pup or a show pup.

Talk to a few different breeders. A pet pup will require spay/neuter.

u can get a pet quality dog from the breeder but the price depends on the breeder, and yes it is a good idea pet quality purebreds are just as wonderful as the show and field quality they just don't have the best characteristics for the improvement of the breed as the others.

The only way to get a pure bred dog cheap from a breeder is if something is wrong with the pup, like being the runt (It will be smaller for the rest of its life) or if they are older, like 4-5 months old and they are just tring to get rid of them....

Or you could go to a puppy mill and buy a dog, but if you do this, you may run into expensive health issues!

Really, you get what you pay for, plain and simple!

in case you haven't any longer have been given adequate funds, don't get a pup - or a canines. do you comprehend that a pup can fee as much as $one thousand its first year? Plus, you need to be arranged for emergency vet visits, and with domestic canines they want countless vaccines. you particularly won't be able to get a high quality bred pup for under $2 hundred. safeguard canines are a different tale, yet preliminary cost isn't each little thing. in case you're even thinking getting a pup (which I strongly recommend against) you need to examine someplace different than Y!A to show your self on basically what it takes to possess and look after a pup or a canines.

You can buy dogs with faults for less but i would suggest a mixed breed if you don't plan to show it anyway. Will save a bunch of cash and get a dog with a better disposition.
