Dogs get spooked by your reactions. Maybe you seem too excited when you go get the camera. Stay calm, let her sniff the camera, and don't use flash. Good luck. My Chihuahua hates the lamp. When I turn it on, he growls and barks at it, until I turn it off. Puppies are silly!

This could be a couple of different things.
One there could be a noise the camera is making that causes the dog discomfort in the ear, and you can not hear it.
Or whenever the camera comes out, such a fuss is made it frightens her.
Both need to be addressed by desensitizing her to the camera.
While she is eating her favourite food, pull the camera out and don't cut it on. Just sit next to her with it in your lap. NO PHOTOS YET! Do this a couple of meals, then turn it on during a meal. If she seems stressed over it, turn it off and still sit with it in your lap. Turn it on again...
Eventually, and i mean when she is not lifting her head every time you turn it on, take a picture and turn it off. Make sure the flash is off, because you don't care if it a good picture, and you are building up to that.
At this point, try turning it off and on when she is engrossed in her favourite toy. Then eventually take a picture.
Slowly add the flash, and don't try to pose her... that will only stress her again.
It is a slow process, but worth it.
Good luck

You can try turning off any noises it might make. Take her out on a leash while you snap pictures of other things. When she acts afraid totally ignore her. Soothing her in any way is actually rewarding her for her actions. Let her sniff the camera. Hold her while someone else takes pictures... she will eventually get the idea that the camera is not a monster.

It could be the flash or cameras do emit a high pitched noise that may bother her. you might start her off by taking pics outside at a longer range, no flash needed, if it is the noise that has her scared starting her off farther away and letting her get used to the sound may also help, also let her see the camera when it is off. you can leave it sitting around in sight so she will get used to seeing it. Let her sniff it and she will start to realize it is not a threat.

If you are a natural person you should try cognitive behavioral therapy. It was the only thing that has helped me with my horrible health anxiety. Read here https://tr.im/Yj9i9
Your thinking determines your quality of life. Your thinking is what causes you these feelings:
Anxious, fearful, stressed or depressed
Constantly worried, or angry about something that is happening in your life
Struggling to overcome obsessive and negative thoughts.
If you change your thinking, you will change your life. This is the basic idea behind CBT for anxiety. The Cognitive part is where you learn nee methods and ways to change your same old habits and thinking patterns. If you keep thinking and expecting the worst – You will continue to suffer.

It may make noise she can hear or the flash may scare her. Let her come up to the camera and smell it without you moving it. Try to get pics when she is doing something cute and not noticing the camera is there-they make the best shots I think. Reward her when she smells the camera and when she lets you snap some shots of her.

My dog does that too, she's incredibly camera shy. I've tried all the abovementioned solutions, but she still doesn't like the camera, and she's too excited to take pictures on walks.
The solution I found: Include yourself in the photo. Seriously, she doesn't like me pointing the camera at her, but when I'm sitting next to her having a picture taken of both of us, or when I put my face close to hers and take a picture of us both, she's fine with it. Just crop yourself out later if you want the scrapbook to be purely of her!

Is she camera shy or does the flash go off and scare her.I would bet she has had several pictures taken and the flash was used on some of them...She will come around, take them outdoors and when she least expects it.Enjoy her whatever you do....

You have to be really quick. I knew a dog once that would run to me whenever I'd have a camera out. You might have to sit a long time waiting for the right moment to do this. You'll have to patient. I hope you get it. God bless!
