It is a face washing ritual. All puppies feel happy and like they need to clean after they eat, just like kitties who groom themselves after they eat also.

My dog does that too. I think he is just trying to wipe his face off.

Because he wants to clean his face off........throw his blanket down and teach him to rub on it. I have an American bulldog and he is huge, one of my biggest I have ever had and he thinks he is human......I just say, "NOWAY ON YOUR BLANKEY BUD" and he goes to his blanket....
