I have a 3 year old Lhasa Apso who barks non stop! She barks whenever she hears someone outside, or someone other than myself or my mother comes in the door. And then she doesn't stop barking until about 30 minutes after that person is still in the house. I have another dog who doesn't do this, and I would think she would learn from him. I need her to learn its not ok to do this as I'm thinking of getting an apartment and that simply won't work. Some people suggested a "bark collar" however I'm somewhat weary of them, I think they're someone cruel. I need a safe yet effective way to get her to stop that won't take years to correct. Help!

My PUPPY lived from a virus called Parvo!!!!! She got better within a day. If you'r dog has this desese bring it to the vet ASAP. If you catch it in time you'r animal will be fine. It is a deadly virus and only puppies can get it. Unless you'r dog didn't get his/her shots. It is very rare for grown up dogs to get it. These are the symthoms for Parvo, thowing-up,Diarea, and is not eating the right way. My dog is a lived because we caught it on time. It's not to late to get you'r pup to the vet.God bless you & you'r dogs !!!!

if you have anything to say or any information please let me know. You can even talk to me if you would like. I have been with my dog during Parvo and we gave her medicane and fluids. ( well the doctor did. )

He's trained to go outside. But at night as I do't have a crate, he would do it around the house. I put down pretreated pads in the kitchen and tried to restrict him in the kitchen, but he cried all night and I let him out, so when I woke up next morning, he did many times on different spots on the carpet. What should I do to keep him from doing it around the house when no one is around to let him out???

I have a 3-year-old, 80lb dog of mixed breed. We have his food dish in the kitchen where he eats twice a day. Whenever we feed him, he always takes the first mouthful or two into the living room to eat it. I read the answer to the question "Why does my dog leave food in the familly room?" and although it's similar, my dog doesn't leave the food, he eats it right away. Why is this?

My dog is about ten or eleven years old, a beagle, and appears to be in pretty good physical health, although she is a bit overweight. For the past week, she has been acting abnormal. She is clingy, and doesn't respond to things like she normally does. Treats or food that she normally grabs out of your hand, she won't eat. She is acting lazier than usual, and just seems really depressed. Anyone have any ideas about why this is happening?

To put an elderly animal to sleep? Do you just "know"? Im not doing this yet, but I know my dogs health is declining, and dont want her to suffer, but also dont want to have to do that, here in probably the near future..How do you cope? Is there a way to prepare for that? I pray everyday that she just goes in her sleep, so I dont have to make that decision... Thanks!

i have a two week old puppy but due to the fact that his mother was a rescue quite old and was not well taken care her milk has become almost non existent,i am trying to supplemental bottle feed the puppy but he hates the taste of his store bought formula, who can blame him,i tasted it and it is NASTY!! does anyone out there have a tastier recipe, maybe a little closer to mother's milk that he would take to and thrive well on,he is very undersized and puny,i am just trying desperately to get him to survive until he can eat on his own

My dog had an allergic reaction 2 days ago, our vet told us to give him benadryl. His face isn't swollen anymore but now his eye is bothering him. He threw up twice today and in his eye it looks like a flap of skin is forming from the corner. I can tell it is really bothering him because he tries to keep it closed as much as possible. He has a vet apt. in two days but I'm worried and wonder if I should just bring him to the hospital.

my siberian husky has many problems and i want to know how i can correct them.
1. she chews pens, pencils, DVDs/CDs (if theyre laying around) flashlights, and almost anything that she can reach on coffee tables that isnt paper. she even ate my sunglasses! and she always seems to chew on things when im not home, so i cant catch her in the act and whenever i get home, she has this guilty look on her face like "i know i did something wrong" and then i disipline her with hitting her on the nose and saying a very firm "NO." and almost every day i come home and find something chewed up. i try and make sure theres nothing on the floor but idk how she manages to get somethings but she does. my mom says shes doing this out of boredom, and i believe her.. but everytime i get her a new toy, she chews it up and i end up cleaning it up. when my sister had her (then she gave her to me after two years) she even chewed up WINDOWSILLS! i need advice please. shes about 4 years old.
