Give yourself a bit of time and remember what a good home and love you gave the dog. In time you might want to get another dog not as a replacement but as another different companion.

there is as this time that no other dog will take it's place. you must mourn the lost of your pet as you would if it was a human love one. you know that no other person could take a mother's place or father'splace so this is true about your dog. so give your self time to heal. it will be long but think of the good times you had with your pet. and if later you want to get another dog, make it of a different breed. that way the lost of your love pet will not be in your face all the time. it should remain in your heart. l am so sorry you lost a loving pet. those of us who have a pet will go thur the same thing some day. just take time to mend.

As everyone knows that special pet can never be replaced, we had a dog that was very special to our family and when he died it was a very sad time, It took us a while to get over the sadness and buck up and buy another dog. Though the dog that has passed can never be replaced it was a new experiance getting a new one. Sure we werent forgetting about old Crunch but we moved on to another pet that became special in its own way. So I would wait until you are sure you can handle another dog and then buy one. It may just be what you need to move on from the sadness, just never forget your old dog.

not sure on your question? If he was poorly then its good that he is in no more pain, bereavement will take a while, and yes many do get a new dog, i personally think its good to wait a while, because you will always compare new dog with old dog. Take your time, you will no when it is the right time for new doggy. I am sorry about your loss it is horrible when we loss a loved one. Regarding your dog, you can get him/her cremated contact your vet they should be able to tell you more about this.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

From your question it makes me wonder if this was actually your dog or someone else's and you loved it anyway.

I don't really know what you mean when you ask what you should do. It depends on the circumstances I suppose. It will feel horrible for a while and you should allow yourself time to grieve, cry and get support.

I send you my very best wishes.

So sorry for your loss. I know its extremely hard to lose a loved pet. I have been thru this so nothing i can say will ease your pain.

I would make a treasure chest of your dogs things and store it such as its blanket, toys, ect so you can go back and hold them later on. Keeping its memory alive.

I know its hard but you wil have to move on. Chose weather to get a new dog or not. Just take your time so you know what kind you want to get. again so sorry for your loss.

we had a 14 year old black lab named tex who died in 1997. he was my first dog & i got joint custody of him when i married. at the time he was 10 years old. it was so hard on us when he died that we promised never to get another dog again because it was so hard to watch them go. after 6 months we got another lab , & while he has a completely different personality , we are so glad we did it. alas , he is getting sickly with cushings disease & he may have to be put down within the next year. again we are promising to not get another dog because we would like to start traveling without always worrying what to do with the dog , but i know in my heart that we will get another one. the house will seem too empty without one.

Very sorry for your loss. It is very hard to lose a loved one. You can try another pet, your best bet would be a cat, rat, hampster, something other that a dog for the time being. Kowing from past experience, it is very hard to accept another right away. Good luck and our hearts go out to you.

I'm sorry your dog died. It's a tough thing to go through. I waited a few months before going out and getting another one.
