You can feed him several tablespoons of pumpkin pie filling - it has a lot of fiber in it and might help him pass it more quickly. We used to use this remedy when I worked at the vets office. If its been too long to make him throw up - thats what I would do. Definately watch for him not feeling well - being lethargic, not eating well, and the V & D you mentioned.

Keep a close eye on the dog, but in your favor, bulldogs have really resilient digestive systems. And those rope bones are made of materials that dogs can ingest safely. You could try a little olive oil to lube the pump so to speak. Call the vet and ask about the olive oil.

Give her a small amount (2 to 3 ounces) of hydrogen peroxide to make her vomit. KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON HER! If she does bring up the rope take it away and get rid of it. Dogs will try to eat their own vomit. Keep a close eye on the pup. At only 12 weeks of age, you may have an emergency on your hands. The small intestine of a dog that age is about the diameter of a woman's pinky finger. If the intestine gets blocked, and food cannot pass through your puppy will get VERY sick and could die of a disease called peritonitis which is almost always fatal if not caught VERY early. Surgery may be the only way to remove the rope from the pups digestive tract .

I have a Pomeranian that swallow the end knott of a rawhide bone and took him to the vet. Vet took Xray and told me his Lab does this alot and if dog not constipated, throwing up or in pain, it should digest enough in a couple of days and pass. He was right. Dog was Ok. Vet bill was $200 for xray and consultation.
Feed soft foods only for a few days and watch him carefully.

I would call the vet again ... ask ... feed him his regular diet? Will the puppy be able to pass this through his digestive track? Anything you can give him to help speed up the process? Should the puppy be calm or is it okay to jump around and play? Tomorrow I would call a second vet for another opinion and if those two don't agree, I would call a third. I do hope the little cutie is okay.

I think it will take a very long time to come out, so don't worry too much just make sure that he dons't look like he is in pain. You should keep playing with him so he dosn't sense your worried or he could panic and make the situation worse

I'd call the vet. You probably just need to make sure her bowels are moving properly and she'll send it out eventually, but if it's capable of stopping up the digestive tract, she may need surgery.

I think I would call another vet for a second opinion. To wait for the dog to have problems due to an obstruction simply does not make sense!!

did the vet say if his tummy will dissolve it? How worried you must be just keep an eye on him and I hope all turns out well. We have to watch them like a hawk.

You should give him laxating oil to help it pass through because the texture of the rope can damage the inside of his stomach and can be very painful
