Sounds like the "third eyelid" is swollen and showing. It's not an emergency situation. However, you want to be sure he doesn't scratch at it with his front paws (dewclaw). You might get a bottle of natural tears (drops or ointment) and put this in his eye as often as you think of it (8 or so times a day).... that should give some relief. DO NOT use anything in the eye such as Murine!!!!! If he scratches at the eye you may need to devise an Elizabethan collar.... this is a collar that is similar to a cone over the head. Gives him access to food and water but stops the paws from getting to his eyes. They sell these collars at large pet supply stores.
If the vomiting continues today take him off water and give only ice cubes to lick on. Also, do not feed him today. Tomorrow you can start him back on food.... a little at a time. If vomiting continues into tomorrow get an appointment for him then (Monday)..... don't wait. They can help relieve the vomiting.

Wait untill the vet appt. if the vet says it's serious take him to the hospital. Don't worry! The vet will know what to do! This is what they're trained for. As a dog lover myself I know how hard it can be to have a sick dog in your home waiting for an appt. to see if he's okay. But from previous experience, let me tell you don't go out of proportion. Everything will be okay! Hope your dog is doing better.

Dogs have a third eyelid.... I think that may be what you are talking about. You usually wouldn't see it often, but if it is sticking out or swollen, then you definitely want to have the vet take a look at it.

The flap of skin is nothing to worry about. Dogs have a3rd eyelid and that's what you're seeing. My dog is prone to eye infections so she has that 'flap' a lot. But don't worry, it'll go away over time.

If he continues to throw up or appear in pain, by not eating, drinking, pawing at his eye, or whining then take him to emergency vets ASAP..If he seems to be doing ok, and you feel in your heart he can wait 2 days then wait...I usually go with my gut feeling on those things...Hope he is ok..Keep us posted
