I have seen pictures of Yorkies ears when they aren't 'right'. I can't think of the medical term they use though. Only thing is, her ears don't resemble those pictures fully. One moves very easily and the other doesn't move as much. She doesn't complain when you touch it and it isn't swollen. It doesn't move just isn't as active as the other. Is something wrong or is this normal?

P.S. I am new when it comes to having dogs as pets, I have always had cats.

What is the usual stud fee for pug breeding? Does he deserve more since his pug is champion-bred? Thanks a lot.

Note: To any and all who want to discourage me from breeding my pug, please know I am collaborating closely with my veterinarian. This will be my third time breeding. I am aware of all the potential health hazards that could arise and I have taken measures to prepare myself in case any problems occur. Believe me I love my pug very dearly.

I got a three year old dog from a family who couldn't take care of her anymore. The son in the family was a long distance runner and trained the dog to run with you. I would like to take her running, but I have seen people do it different ways. I have seen some people use one of the retractable leashes and let the dog run a fair ways ahead of them. And I have seen others using shorter leashes and keeping the dogs right by their side. I don't have this families number, so I can't ask how the son trained the dog to run before. Which is the better way, or does it not even matter?

Ive been looking after a neighbours westie recently and it seems to always be ill and have an upset stomach. I dont know what my neighbour is feeding her but I know she has quite a few treats from him but these arent dog treats, stuff like crisps and chicken. Is this the reason she is always ill? The vet doesnt have a clear idea. She also seems to be biting her legs etc..is this something to do with her being ill? We know its not fleas too. Any help would be appreciated

If I'd let her, she would lick me ALL DAY - EVERY DAY. Does any one know why she does this? I'm not the only one she does this to,
and it gets pretty annoying after awhile. She DOES NOT lack salt, as I've tried giving her ham and she does'nt like it. Has anyone ever heard of a dog having an obsession like this? I will appreciate any help I can get. Serious inquiries only please.~ Debbies MOM

P.S. I'd like to add, that Deb licks me all over, and at times I wake up with her actually SNEAKING up on my mouth to lick it!!!Debbie is my dogs name!

I live in Chicago... getting cold here... snowing and in the low 30s now. My 8 wk old pom LOVES to be outside but I'm afraid he'll get sick due to the cold. Everyone tells me my puppy's fur will definitely keep him warm in this weather but I don't believe them. Against their advice, I put a puppy shirt on him and brought along the thin cape I found at Petsmart. As we got to the end of the block, my bf noticed our puppy was shivering. I ALMOST PANICKED! We decided to get back to our place ASAP. I put on his cape but could still feel him shiver as I carried him. [*I couldn't find a heavy cape that would fit him at Petsmart!] Here is my question: what is the lowest temp an 8 wk old pom can tolerate without any clothing on? Do I need to get him doggy shoes?? *The woman at a small pet store near our place told us he didn't need shoes, just a type of protectant on his feet (to protect against the salt that is spread over street n sidewalk). He had that on and his feet seemed ok.

I have been stuck on finding a name thats not to rough like "Rocky" but its still a boy so we don't want Fluffy or something like that. Whats a good name for my male dog?

Note- Can't be Tucker or Teddy (great names though) but another dog in the neighborhood has those names

I take her for walks, I feed her, I always buy her toys and bring them home to her and watch her get all excited, I bathe her, If she gets sick I take care of her and baby her until she's well, I do everything for her. All he does is come home from work and play with her for a few minutes and she's crazy about him. When I come home, she barely acknowledges me. When we settle in for the evening, she prefers sitting on his lap. I don't get it. He barely does anything for her.

I recently asked about a Jack Russell and am finding out that they are high strung. My lifestyle cannot handle that type of dog. I need a small laid back, non hyper type of dog. How are Yorkies? I had a poodle and she was more than hyper. Just down right wild. She needed alot of room to run and play which I did not have so I found the perfect family for her.
