I am having a problem with my dog Bobby. He use to drink alcohol once in a while. But lately he has been hitting the sauce very heavy lately. A whole fifth of MD 20/20 was gone from my liquor cabinet this morning. Bobby's water dish smell of wine. I am at wits end and now he pick fights with the neighbors dog constantly. I had him at the pet treatment for acohol and drug abuse a few months ago but they kicked him out and said he was to much for them to handle. Help! I'm about to take him for a one way drive!

My Chihuahua died 1 hour ago, and the Vet said she does not know exactly, but she was bleeding from her rectum for 6 hours. She did not have parvo. She had hypoglycemia, and pancreatic. Does anyone know why she went into cardiac arrest when the Doctors inserted the IV’s? She did not respond. Any help would be appreciated.

My dog doesn't have fleas that I can see but always scratches, sometimes gets sores from the scratching. A couple of people have said that the breed is known for some type of dry skin but no one can tell me what to treat it with. Any one know? I know I will call a vet. Don't tell me that I just wanted to see what you all had to say.

My s-i-l brought a sick puppy to my house and even though I told him I didn't want my 3 dogs exposed to any possible health risks.....He fed it and held in while on my sofa; at one point, asked me to hold it. TODAY, my daughter calls to say all of my dogs will need shots because it now looks like it was parvo. She says the shots are $20 each and all 3 dogs need it. I'm just fit to be tied! I don't have the money to do this and I tried to tell them not to put me into this situation. Does anyone have any info on parvo and/or distemper? Appreciate some feedback....

I live in Denver where the temerature changes from 50 degrees to teens from day to day. My puppy is losing a lot of hair for this time of year and i don't think it's normal. Is there anything i can do to help minimize her hair loss. I feed her Scientific Diet for puppies and various different treats during the day so i don't know if i'm doing anything wrong. Please help!

My Shih Tzu recently died from a bleeding stomach ulcer. I had never known that dogs could have ulcers. He showed no signs of being ill until 1 day before his death, in fact he was gaining weight and didn't seem to be in any distress. The vet was shocked by the size of his ulcer and the fact that he showed no signs of illness. Has anyone here ever had a dog with an ulcer? If so was it treatable? Did your vet know the cause?

I've changed her food, she has plenty water, and the vet said she is fine.

So how come she keeps acting like she is about to barf? She has been doing this for weeks now.
She has thrown up a little maybe three or four times and it was like clearish-yellowish. She has never mated (or even had her monthly yet) so I know she isn't pregnant. I know she isn't eating too fast either cause sometimes she does it when she hasn't even eatin in awhile.

One of the dogs has secreted on a more regular basis, but the second one never did before. What causes this and what can i do to help them? I see that manually expressing the glands is not recommended. Could it be their dog food? they both eat dry food. The smell is awful and since the smaller one sleeps next to me at night the smell gets on my clothes.

my dog feels really hot. She's a 13 week old Maltese and she got some standard vaccines this morning. it looked like the vet used a regular sized needle, and she's been very sleepy and doesnt want to move or anything. usually she's happy, playful, and very active. If you try and touch her she will yelp, and it's heartbreaking...

What's wrong and what should i do?!?!?!

I have read that the weeping fig is poisonous but our neighbors have one and it continuously drops the little round balls that look like garbonzo beans. I have tried to stop my dog now 6 months from eating them. Even with all my sweeping them and keeping her away from them, she probably eats around 10 a day! Does anyone know what the effects would be? She is a healthy dog and this has been going on for 4 months!

We are adopting a puppy and he will be coming home hopefully next week or so. We live in 3 story townhouse and would like to litter box train him. He is a small terrier mix and will be an indoor dog. We live in Minnesota where the weather is FREEZING cold right now. Because of this and the fact that in order for him to go potty outside we would need to put him on the balcony or down and out through the basement - we would like to potty train him in a litter box. I've heard of a couple different methods for it and would like to hear some actual success stories, not just commercials. What type of system did you use and what was the set-up for it?
