never heard of that food. Maybe (most likely) she is sensitive to whatever is in it. I just looked on line. There seems to be a lot of Meal (first ingredient) and meat by products in this brand. You may want to try to switch to a brand that has less carb (meal) and more real protien. Eagle pack is a good one, Innova is good too!

Good luck with your little stinky guy!

Well, just like people who eat certain foods that create a lot of gas, dogs react the same way. So try changing your dog food brand, and that should help, if not clear it up for the most part, okay? Also, don't give your dog people food, not even a "little" bit, because that can really add to the gas problem. Good luck.

lol... yep dogs sure do fart. But I don't think you can train them to do it on command. And if you feed it weird foods to produce gas, you could end up with a little more of a problem than just wind coming from the poor thing!

The most common causes of bad flatulence in dogs include;

Eating too fast - When the dog eats too fast, swallowed air (aerophagia) makes it to the intestines very quickly and in a more concentrated quantity.
The natural processes of producing the gas through food digestion and absorption within the digestive and eliminatory tracts.
Eating foods that are known to cause flatulence (beans, cauliflower etc).
Eating a poor quality dog food.

Tips that can help diminish the severity of dog flatulence:

Instead of feeding your dog 1 or 2 portions of food per day, divide the daily ration into smaller portions and feed the dog more frequently.
Sometimes dogs eat too quickly because they fear their food will be taken away, so feed your dog in a quiet comfortable area.
Exercise the dog more frequently to stimulate its intestines.
Choose a premium brand of dog food that is highly digestible.

There are products on the market that can can be added to dog food in order to reduce farting but these should only be used after consulting your veterinarian. Activated charcoal is often used in this regard and it does absorb the bad smelling gasses that cause bad flatulence. It must be used with caution and only occasionally however, since it can also rob the dog's body of the nutrients it is getting from its food.

It should be noted that although bad flatulence can be reduced, all dogs (just like all humans) experience daily flatulence and it should never be your intention to get your dog to stop farting altogether.

Does it scare you when you fart? It's completely normal...however, you might want to switch her diet. Dogs like humans....we get gasy whenever we eat something that creates gas in our stomach (I fogot what the compound that creates this). Also, don't fee her human food that could be another reason for the gas...dogs have more sensitive stomachs than us.

However, don't worry your dog probably just needs to change her diet.

Why do you fart? Why do your farts stink so bad? The SAME reason that your dog farts!!! It's normal!! If you really think that there is a serious problem with your dog's flatulence issues, then by all means take her to the vet. I'm sure she's perfectly fine. Change her dog food to something like Kibbles n' Bits...see what happens.

2 things most responsible for flatulence with canines are (1) The food you are feeding it - I recommend Nutro Ultra. (2) Do you have your dog's food bowl elevated 8 " to 10" from the floor? If you are feeding @ floor level, your dog is swallowing a lot of air - Voila!!! GAS.

I don't think diamond dog food is a good brand. That is probably the reason. If you feed a good quality dog food, it usually cuts down on the fas.

She is intolerant to something about the food, or treats you are giving her. Is she eating any dog poop in the yard? (Yes, they can be gross sometimes).
She might have a food allergy, but first you need to eliminate the possibility of a foreign object in her digestive track. Sorry, but she should probably see a vet, just to be sure.

Feed a kibble with NO corn or soy or beet pulp. these are the notorious fart makers. she is not digesting her food properly, so it creates excess gas.
You can also add a spoon of plain yogurt to her kibble to aid in more complete digestion.

Note: I just read the ingredient list for Diamond dog food, and guess what..it has corn, corn gluten, and beet pulp. > http://www.diamondpet.com/products/ingredients/
