I have been told you must sterilize your home or the dog will become re-infected. Also that I should never have puppies born in my home as they will also catch this parasite. Is this true?

He's potty trained, I mean I take him out every hour or so, but he still marks his territory in the house. He pees on the corner of the couch, and the corner of the dishwasher. Any suggestions as to how to get him to stop?

In the major city of my metropolitan area, 2 brothers are on trial for pouring paint on a puppy, duct-taping its legs and jaws, and then baking it in an oven. They then showed the cooked puppy to other children and threatened to kill them if they told anyone.

I have 2 male rottweiler both 9 months. Falco and brownie, this morning i was giving my dogs bones to chew to keep them occupied while i watched tv and i noticed that falco ( more smaller yet agressive dog ) was struggling with his bone, so i decided to come over and hold the bone in place while he chews. A thing about falco is that he is 2x smaller than his brother, both were born at the same time but brownie was the first one born in the litter and falco was the last born. Well falco is really agressive to people and other animals and he has never ever growled, bark, or try to bite me. until this morning, i came over to help falco and when i reached for his bone, he started to growl at me and show me his teeth, which i was shocked, he never ever did this before .. Should i be worried or is this a stage that they go thru when they began to mature. also i use to take them to obidience school, until about a month ago and got lazy and stopped going. Should i be worried ?

I recently got a little puppy. She is about 6 weeks old now, and acting like it. She eats shoes, bites at my feet, digs in the garbage, pees on the floor without whining (she usually whines when she needs to go out). She yelps for no reason, and is just doing the typical puppy stuff. I tried gently slapping her nose, but I feel bad. I wouldn't slap the nose of my children, and I dont want to slap the nose of my dog. I bark at her sometimes, and she stops being naughty, but she seems scared and distraught. Please give me a simple way that I can teach my dog obidience without being mean to her. Thanks.

My golden lab ate a whole bowl of chocolates, the wrappers and all, I couldn't believe it. Then I heard she could die. That was a few days ago, and she is still kickin.
So why do people say those things?

Scary, I know.

What Yahoo needs is an AUTO-ANSWER feature. We can each make our own selection of pre-made answers, like:

Because it's a dog.
Take it to the vet.
Have it spayed/neutered.
You don't know enough to be breeding.
GEEZ YOU'RE A FRIGGIN MORON (I know GitEM could use this one ;-) )

Then when we go to a question, we have the option of typing an answer or selecting an AUTO-ANSWER.

Whadda ya think?

I have a 2 year old daughter and an 8 lb papillon mix and they are so wonderful together! I would like to get a play mate for my papillon but i don't want the dog larger than 15-20 lbs because he only like dogs that are his same size! It is very important to me that the dog also has a loving personality with everyone especially my daughter! In other words what breed is good with young children and other dogs? Thanks in advance!

I was told to apply Benedry Cream to my puppy's ear rash. Is it safe? I want to make sure before I apply it, that if I put it on and she scratches her ear and then licks her paws or one of my other dogs grooms her, that what they lick off, won't be toxic to them

...that 98% of these "why does my dog...whatever?" can be answered by "BECAUSE IT'S A DOG"!!
And adding "because it's an UN-TRAINED,spoiled ROTTEN dog" or "It's just a PUPPY!" will bring that up to 100%????
