How do I know if it is sea lice and how do I treat him?

To be on the safe side, wash your puppy with a flea shampoo and give him childrens benedryl for the itching. Do you live in Florida? That is usally wear most cases of sea lice are found. Also, this is the wrong time of year for them. Not saying it isn't [possible though.

puppy has more than likely picked up sand fleas....give a bath in flea shampoo, let the shampoo stay on for 5-10 minutes and then use Frontline, Adams Flea spray or one of the other available flea control products....don't use the cheapo Hartz or a regular store bought brand....they don't work as well.

Sea lice? Please. Your dog is fine. Now your sister may need help. Keep a close eye on her this holiday season. Sometimes, I realize that being an only child was truly a blessing.

It is most likely the salt water has dried the dogs skin. Give it a bath and use a moisterizing conditioner.
