I have an Australian Cattle Dog. He was born Dec.22,2004. I notice my dog was limping. He was not puting any weight on his left hine leg. I took my dog to the vet and after x-rays and evaluation my vet stated: he has a rupture of the cranial cruciate ligament in his left rear leg. In lemen terms one of his ligaments in his rear left leg is torn. My vet. suggested that I take him to Mannases Veternary Hospital for surgery. The treatment is called (TPLO), Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy. The recovery is 8 weeks and the cost is $2,500.00. I would like another opinion before I decide what I am going to do. I need to know of a honest veternarian.

I just got a new puppy. She's an 8 week old Shih Tzu. I also have another dog who is a 2 year old Peekapoo(male). He keeps trying to sniff her and get to know her but she keeps growling and trying to bite him. She gets really mean. With humans she's sweet, soft and cuddley but with him she's mean. Does anyone know how to deal with this?

i have a 9 year old chihuahua. he's been considerably healthy for that past years. this year, however, he's had daily seizures. based on the information that i looked up, it did not seem to be serious, as he did not have watering of the eyes, uncontrollable bladder, or any other symptoms. it seemed to me that he lost control of his hind legs. this past month, my chihuahua has been shrieking/yelping in pain constantly. it would occur more often at night. there seems to be no problem with his walking or his legs. however, he is now more reluctant to walk and excercise. when he does, he is slow and looks weak.

i've read several articles and the symptoms my dog has are similar to that of lameness. i am still very uncertain.

any ideas of what my dog may have? could this have been a result of exposure to paint/toxic chemicals? please share!

I have a teacup maltese puppy and since she's a puppy, I don't want her to go outside to poop and get sick or something, so I bought a bunch of pee rags for her to defecate on. (A mat that I purchased at a pet store that's like a litter box kind of) Since she's going to be around 3 lbs at most, is it considered weird to just let her use the pee rags for the rest of her life?

First of all you all who had rude comments was uncalled for. I was trying to help my mom out. She has been breeding for well over 20 years and very reputable. The cost is not outrageous for te quality of do she has. She lives in a small town so i was trying to help her advertise a little. She cant do it herself for a few reasons. And also she loves these animals more than anything... the reason this is her business is because she has various medical problems including cancer and can not work. Most of the dogs that she has had she gives to people in need. I think it was wrong of a lot of you to post rude comments about it. All i was doing was trying to help her out some.
