My friend was told by her landlord that she has 30 days to get rid of her dog (We live in California). It is a dog friendly building and many other tenants have dogs. The landlord claims it is because there are tenants that are "afraid" of the dog. She is a Pit bull, and is the most gentle, well-trained, well-behaved dog I know. She has never attacked or even tried to bite anyone, and has never been in a fight with another dog. She is fixed and licensed by the city. There are no breed restrictions in the building and the landlord agreed to her having the dog before she moved in (though I am not sure what it says on the lease). She does have a year lease. What can she do?

My dog had 5 puppies in all, 3 didn't make it past birth, 2 did. The first one that lived she ate the afterbirth and seemed to be doing okay, I came back and the puppy had been bit in the head and died, this was only a couple of minutes. We didn't know if it was her or the male. The other one that lived, she was fine with all day, I put them in the kitchen and when I got home they were okay. I had to help her let the puppy nurse and she was doing great. Cleaning him and letting him crawl all over her. I walked out of the kitchen for like 10 seconds, and she had jumped out of the box and I went and looked at the puppy and he had two little spots of blood on him, and I picked him up and she had bit him and it punctured his lung. Was this an accident? Was she just picking him up and did it to hard? She didn't seem to know that anything was wrong with him, she went back to the box to look for him, did she do it on purpose? Was I wrong to put the puppy with her.

I have two big beautiful blue eyed wolf dogs. I watched Disney's "SnowDogs" and I have been thinking about getting my dogs into commercials and print ads. I'd like to know what you think. Should I get them into "show-business"? They are very friendly and have been brought up from puppyhood with kids and cats. They are well socialized so I don't have to worry about that. (These wolfdogs do not live in a pen..they live in my house and can usually be found lounging on my couch or playfighting all over the house.) Please tell me if I should get them involved with this. I'd especially like to hear from owners who've had their dogs in "show business" before. Specifically, did the dog like it or not? (I would never want to get my dogs involved in anything they didn't thoroughly enjoy).
Any feedback is appreciated. Here is a link to see my wolf dogs.

I have been on petfinders and found a dog that I would love to adopt....I had to fill out this intensive application and it could take up to 4 weeks. I have adopted in the past from the SPCA and they make you fill out a application and I took the dog home that day.
Why the long process??

I have an 11 week old shih tzu, Who refuses to eat unless I hand feed him....The breeders who I bought him from informed me that they were giving him pedigree but I dont believe so because when I'm eating he wants to eat after me...Also I am trying to get him paper trained because I cannot take him outside in sub zero weather! I have been up with him all morning trying to get him to go in his spot and what does he do? PISS right on the floor away from were I tell him to go....I feel so bad for him that I make him stay in his crate but he wont eat and he wont go were I tell him...He knows to go on the paper because he does so often...Is he being mean to me? I am sooo frustrated....That I could cry....I know it may seem crazy but I dont want him to think Im a tyrant! What else can I do?

I have a 3 month old staffy male, and the last few days hes been getting abit aggressive. Hes started growling and sometimes snapping. I know i need to take him to obedience classes, which i am looking into but can anyone offer any advice on how to get him out of it before he gets out of control. Any little things i can be doing to calm him down. I know they are an excitable breed, which he is but hes not doing it through play, hes doing it when hes been moved from doing things he shouldnt. Any help would be much appreciated.

My Lhasa Apso puppy is having trouble pooping. She tries but she can't. I think it is because the poop got stuck to her behind. She also is foaming a lot at the mouth. I know that she has not been bitten by a rapid animal cuz she lives inside. Do you know what this means?

My Chihuahua of 7 years now absolutely hates my wife. When I am in the house with my wife my dog sits on my lap constantly. When my wife comes near me, put's her hands near me, or even looks at my dog, she goes crazy barking, growling, and trying to bite her. I dont know what to do with this dog! I have been with my wife for 3 years, and my dog was with me alone the preceeding 4 years. When I am gone and my dog is alone with my wife, she is fine and dosent act up. Any suggestions?

My Border Collie and I have just finished up our first of 3 Competition Obedience training classes. With the holidays setting in, the next class is not picking up until February.

I would like to go forward now if I can. Anyone able to suggest some really helpful books on Obedience Comptition training?

Thanx!
