some dogs have enough of a coat that they will be warm in the snow. Watch for the snow balling up between her toes though. That gets uncomfortable. Other dogs have a thin coat, like my boxer and min pin. They have to have a jacket or sweater to enjoy the winter weather.

And that is a good thing to do. A lot depends on age and coat and health of dog. Obviously, there are lots of choices in sweaters for dogs if she doesn't have a good warm coat of her own. Don't stay out too long at a time if she isn't used to being out or short coated. Try to go out longer if cold but sunny! Dark coated dogs absorb heat from sun easier.

It is in the teens here today, really cold but sunny. Mine all went out and did their thing for about a hour. Back in now to rest. I count on them to let me know by coming to door when they have had enough. Your dog will let you know if you listen!
Thanks for your concern. Think about all the poor babies stuck outside 24/7.

What breed of dog? Most dogs do fine in the snow for short periods. but smaller dogs with shorter hair such as Chihuahua's shouldn't be out long at all. Medium to large breeds are fine as long as they are not for long periods. They also sell sweaters, boots, and snowsuits for dogs should you want to go that route.

dogs naturally conserve heat... just make sure that after you are done playing you get her dry and keep her indoors somewhere dry and warm.

this depends on the breed of course... a chihuahua for example would HATE the snow probably.. and because they dont have alot of hair, would be cold.
