Do not know the answer, but I love jack russells, mine is eight now and I love him to bits, he is a loyal and playful mate with a mind of his own. Hope you find good homes for them, do they love jacks would be the first question I would ask them.

People need knowledge and experience to have Jack Russels. They are not as easy as owning a Lab or the like. More JRs are returned to kennels and shelters because people simply do not have enough understanding what this active and often tempermental breed will or can do. These pups need good trainers. The run of the mill owner will not do well with JRs.

The best way to make sure pups go to a good home is by asking loads of questions to prospective owners, ask questions like do you work?there housing situation?how big is there family?other pets?etc etc.If you throughly grill owners then you will be more satisfied in what home there going to.If you fell a future owner is lying,or hesitating and you dont feel right about something then just tell them the pups are all reserved or some real good breeders even go and inspect future owners houses.Good luck

I require all adopters to read the book that I recommended about the breed. Even if they can't learn all they will need to know about the breed from that book, it demonstrates their commitment ( not a skinny book) ..
Matter of fact it is in the contract, they avow they have read it...lol
It is also in the contract that they will feed premium kibble..
When given a choice between buyers, a former owner of that breed is usually the best choice..
Make sure the buyer knows that you are checking the 'limited registration' box, so that they cannot register any offspring of that puppy..The rules for limited registration will allow the limit to be lifted by the original breeder of the pup, so you can lift the limited status if the dog completes its championship or title.> http://www.akc.org/reg/limitedreg.cfm
I have sold dogs with a spay agreement, only to find out that the dog was kept intact and bred! So, the limited registration will assure you that they are not buying it to be a breeder..

People who really want a russell puppy will pay a good price for them. Naturally you would have had the pups necessary injections done and the deworming. I would never ever give a pup away but found that people who paid a good price did take care of their dogs.

Apart from asking prospective owners questions and maybe visiting their property, the best way is to have your Jack Russel neutered. Much better than unwanted litters of puppies.

You should check out the persons home b4 you sell them a dog and have them sign a contract that CLEARLY states that you will pop in at least 2 times in the dogs life to make sure everything is well and if their are signs of abuse you will report them and regain control of the dog. You have every right to do this and if they do not want to enter into a contract with you then don't let them have a dog.

when they fone ask them question like do they work have they got a garden who is there vet take name of caller and ask them do they mind if you call their vet to check them out have they had a dog before and how long for did they have the last dog ask them what ever you think if they get ***** with you then they will get shi** with the pup and tell them that you will keep intouch with them for some time and check on the well being of the pup and make them sign to the fact that they dont mind you doing this and if they cant cope with the pup they return it to you and not give it away to anyone and what ever you do dont give the pup away if they want a pup make them pay a fair price and when they come to the house check them out and if you get a feeling about them do as i do and tell them that you dont think they are suited for one of your pups my pups and my dogs are my life and rather than sell my pups to someone i wasnt sure of i would keep them all if i had to i still have contact with each and every one of the owners of my pups i sold (reg breeder)
