Just picked up our new Akita puppy, and trying out different names.... Would love some input.
We were thinking of Mikko (mee-ko) what do think??? Female Akita puppy

Akitas are not a fighting breed. a**hole owners make them into fighters. I have had an Akita before. Gentle and kind. Dont get me wrong strong dog, and if not trained, and socialized while a puppy can be a bit agresive, but a great breed all in all.

I have an Akita/Malamute/Wolf cross. His name is Cyrus. He is a large blue eyed stately looking fellow so his name suits him. Pick a name that suits the dog. My other dog's name is Blue..not so original but her piercing blue eyes make her name suit her. I like the name Mikko, it's cute. I also like the name Dakota. Just pick a name that suits her. I actually knew someone who had an akita named Mikko. I thought that it was very cute.

I like Nanuq (Na-nook?) thought Mikko is fine too. I suggest you spend a lot of time with her for a while, I've always found that after a couple of days, once I get to know the dog's personality, the name just sort of presents itself.
