Just don't pick him up anymore.. this breed doesn't want to be carried around (not to mention, he will be too big to carry around soon), it lives to run! I would suggest taking it into a completely fenced (this breed is an escape artist and can run for miles straight) in dog park and let it run for a while and play with the other dogs... I'm talking 1.5-2 hours.. even more if you can! Hopefully you have a local off leash fenced in dog park around, because if you let it run around long enough and burn all that Husky energy, he might just need a very long nap when he gets home and not be as energetic. I've brought my boy to the park for up to 3-4 hours sometimes, and when he gets home, eats his dinner and falls asleep, he is not awake until the next day. Point being, this breed NEEDS to run, sometimes a simple walk won't do. If it doesn't get adequate excercise, it will continue to be crazy and hyper and it will find ways to release the tension and boredome... destructively.

Maybe that isnt a bad thing because do want him to still want you to pick him up when he is 75 pounds. I would start trying to leash train him so you can still get him to the vet if needed. I would also try to have everyone ignore him when he is in the house until he calms down. Trust me it is hard to get them to do it when they are 3 years old and jump up on everyone who walks in the door. Start rewarding him for being calm and it has to be everyone in the family or it wont work very well. He is a smart dog and will figure it out if EVERYONE is CONSISTENT and EVERYONE DOES it ALL THE TIME!

I also have a Siberian Husky and she is very excitable as well. They have to run it's in there blood. I have to stay with my dog and watch her or she would run into the street every single time she could and in fact did and ended up with a broken leg for her efforts. Let your dog run at least twice a day good or bad weather it helps with there nerves and they love the exercise. When your dog is in the house teach them to sit and stay and so on. I have a kennel inside for my Cheyenne and when she refuses to behave she gets basically a TIME OUT. She learned really fast that good behavior gets treats and bad behavior gets outside or contained. One other thing about the being picked up a husky gets HUSKY really quick and it's uncomfortable for them so sit on the floor and let him come to you he will crawl in your lap with love.

i have 3 husky pups and they get walked daily and if the weather is bad and i can't take them for a walk (it's getting cold, so when we have bad wind or rain i dont walk them because my two year wants to go) I have a old tredmil I bought at a goodwill and I put them on there for about 30-45 minutes each just so that they still get there exercise.

it depends on where u get them because alot of the time if they are from the pound then they start getting uncomfortable like they are being abused this sometimes happens even if they aren`t from the pound. but for the accidents in the house when she does this dont punish her by not paying attention to her and eventually she will get the point and will stop. also try kennels they work even better.

Time for obedience class. He needs to learn some manners and self-control.

And if he doesn't like being picked up...too bad so sad...don't let him boss you around.
