My dog seems to itch constantly and the RX pills he has taken only work until they are gone. Then he is itchy again. He bites until there are scabs. My vet suggested IVD-a perscription diet food-to help with the itching. Has anyone else done this for their dog? What were the results?
Thanks!

My dog has long claws and they're really sharp.
I can't cut them with scissors, and even if I could, she runs away if I try. My dog's a terrier. Help!?!

Ok so my husband told me that disneyland has a dog canel. So that your dog is not left in the car or the hotel room while you have a fun filled day at disneyland. Is this true? If so do you have a phone number or a web address so that i may get in contact with them? PLEASE ONLY ANSWER THIS QUESTION IF YOU HAVE A REAL ANSWER!!! Thanks for your help.

I'm thinking of getting a dog. I live in an apartment so I dont want anything huge. I want a dog that I can take on walks/jogs. I also want one that is easy to train and is not yappy. I'm allergic to everything so I would like something with a fine coat that doesnt shed too much.
I had a mini pinscher and loved the dog. It did bark alot, but it was fairly easy to train and I also had it litter trained when it was cold/rainy out.
So I was thinking of an Italian greyhound. Anyone have one? anyone have other suggestions?
Thanks!

This question never fails to amuse me. My dogs run all around the yard, day and night, and never ever step in their poop. Yet, people manage to step in one pile in a huge open space.

My 8 month old puppy has bald spot several inches long on her back. No infection - redness or itching yet. I took her to the vet and she did the skin scraping and found it to be demodectic mange. She put her on goodwinal ointment once a day.

My Min Pin had puppies in Oct. I was worried about Cleos first puppy Missy, and the new puppies.
Well Missy became a very good mommy to the puppies, doing everything her mommy did for them only she was worse. She was very protective of them too.
Towards the end Missy was so ready to have them go, and this past weekend the last one found a home.
They are happy and so are we. Can't wait til the end of the month they have a date with the vet to be spayed. NO MORE PUPPIES!
Just wanted to Thank all of you who helped me through the tough times it was greatly appreciated. I applied all the advice and came through it.

I have a 3 yr old chow mix who pulls on the leash like there's no tomorrow. I have tried choke collars and he just chokes himself like mad. A harness worked for a little while but then he went right back to pulling as hard as he could again. I've tried training methods like making him stop and sit everytime he pulls, but he doesn't seem to care. He is more interested in sniffing than listening to me! I've even tried to be harsh (yanking on the leash and saying NO!) but it doesn't faze him. I've heard great things about the Halti but I am apprehensive about spending money on something else that might not work. Your opinions?? Please help! I would love to walk my dog again but I can't take the strain on my arms and legs (he is a superdog and I'm 5'3" 100lbs) Thanks.

My shih tsu is not eating, He eats a little and only if we offer him the food by hand, and even so, some times he just smells it and turns around. He seems healthy and playful as ever, but he just won't eat much. I'm concerned, please help!

I am in the market to purchase a mixed (poodle mix) breed dog from a reputable breeder. But everytime I read about someone who wants to get one, other people have nasty comments about it. I understand everyone has an opinion but ALL dogs deserve to be in loving homes whether or not they live in a shelter, in a pet store, or with a breeder. So if you loved animals soo much then why is it soo hard for those of YOU to accept a beautiful dog no matter where it comes from. What a contradiction!!!! I have been looking for good information from questions that were previously asked on the type of dog that I want but it is pointless for me to ask my own questions because I won't get a real answer either. To all who have nasty wastefull comments, shame on you for ruining a perfectly good place for people to get real information. To everyone else, don't worry about asking things here try using a search engine from any website to find your favorite breeds.

We live on estate where it seems all my neighbours have one or more cats. My dog a rocky cross has direct access to our garden and every time a cat comes onto our property she attacks, so far this year she has killed five cats. We hide the dead cats in our rubbish bin. I am sure our immediate neighbour is suspicious as she has lost two cats in recent months.

Any idea how we can stop her killing cats? Can we be prosecuted or even worse can Daphne be put down?

My 10 yr old lab will try to hump another male, he's been fixed, I was wondering how he will get along with the new puppy. Also he's a spoiled brat & a daddy's boy. We don't have any children at home so he gets all the attention. He would hurt a flea but he has never been with a 8 week old puppy either
