My shih tsu is not eating, He eats a little and only if we offer him the food by hand, and even so, some times he just smells it and turns around. He seems healthy and playful as ever, but he just won't eat much. I'm concerned, please help!

You must give him the following command in a clear and firm manner: Eat, shih tsu, or die!

I had an 8 pound Rat terrior that did this with a 1 lb bag of M&M's. She had the runs from hell for 2-3 days but was fine after that. I think that the idea of chocolate being bad for dogs is more than likely meant on a regular basis. One time shouldn't hurt the little guy. By the way, my little terrior lived to the ripe old age of 22 years with no other problems than cancer at the very end. In the end though I would have to go with "B" by putting the brownie mix up a little higher and don't be so rough on yourself. These little guys can be quite a hand full at times. Good luck with the little crapper!

first of all when did this start happening?
If it was always like this then ur dog could be picky or just tired of the same food.
If it just started recently then maybe it needs a change in diet but i suggest asking ur vet when might be wrong. I hope nothing wrong happened

How long has this been going on? Have you changed food? Has something in the house changed to put him under stress?

Call the vet and get his opinion.

I have a shihtsu puppy, however my sister in law had one for se veral years before it passed away.

I do know that he did not eat very much--but I have found with my puppy if I take his puppy food (Iams) mix it with little water and mix it with a little bit of canned puppy food and about 1 tablespoon of cat food for smell.....it will eat all of it in one meal.

twice daily

good luck
