There are many small dog breeds out there but keep in mind that dogs that are bred to be extremely small often have health risks. I own a Yorkie and she is 5 pounds. The breed standard is 4-8 pounds. Beware of anything smaller :)
Same for a Chihuahua: breed standard is smaller than a yorkie, but be aware of the health risks that can come with purposely breeding an extremely small dog

Not only is the Chihuahua the smallest breed of dog in the world, it's the only "natural" toy breed.

chihahua or a tea cup yorkie. the samllest dog ever was a teacup yorkie and he was the size of a matchbox!

I'm not sure but my fathfull ol Mutt (who I love to pieces) thinks he is and loves to plop himself on my lap every chance he can...the big Ox......LOL
