I'm thinking of getting a dog. I live in an apartment so I dont want anything huge. I want a dog that I can take on walks/jogs. I also want one that is easy to train and is not yappy. I'm allergic to everything so I would like something with a fine coat that doesnt shed too much.
I had a mini pinscher and loved the dog. It did bark alot, but it was fairly easy to train and I also had it litter trained when it was cold/rainy out.
So I was thinking of an Italian greyhound. Anyone have one? anyone have other suggestions?
Thanks!

The way to do this is to go to www.akc.org
and start your search there. You can research everything you need to know about different breeds and their characteristics. There are pictures to look at too.

The best advice I can think to give you is to buy from a reputable breeder only or adopt from a shelter. Steer clear of the trolls and pet shops and always spay or neuter.

Italian Greyhounds are good little dogs, but are sensitve to the cold weather, and fairly easy to train. Some other good hypoallergenic dogs are: poodles, **** tsu, maltese, even chihuahuas are suppose to be great for people with allergies and asthma. Do some research online and look into either the toy or terrier groups because they are smaller and great for apartments good luck.

They are not very yappy, but I would never call ANY Hound easy to train. They are very smart but often have their own agenda.

They are very sweet, but way to busy and clingy for me.

How about a Chinese Crested? There is also a powderpuff variety if you don't like the hairless. Not very yappy, very smart, and easy to train.

My parents have 2 IGs. They are very nice lap dogs. They like to go for walks, but they're not winter dogs. They are skinny and don't have enough body fat to keep them warm. They are not the easiest dogs to house train either. Rat Terriers are supposed to be pretty nice dogs.
