My 10 yr old lab will try to hump another male, he's been fixed, I was wondering how he will get along with the new puppy. Also he's a spoiled brat & a daddy's boy. We don't have any children at home so he gets all the attention. He would hurt a flea but he has never been with a 8 week old puppy either

Don't push them on each other, give them each their own space and attention, especially the older dog. Never leave them together by themselves. And don't judge their first reaction to each other as how they will be in the future. My Bloodhound and my boyfriends cur hated each other when they met and would fight, now they play the whole time. Be sure to introduce them on neutral territory, do not bring the puppy home, dump him in the dog's territory and expect him to tolerate it.

I'm not sure about the older dog but the puppy won't seem to mind, my brother recently bought a chocolate lab puppy its now 8 months old, but since my brother has had him all hes wanted to do is be friends with other dogs. He'll probably look up to the older one as a father figure.

Make sure the older one doesn't sit on him XD My friend bought a baby rabbit and the older rabbit sat on it but it was fine, just a little stunned. I'm sure a black lab puppy would be a little stunned to be sat on by a 10 year old lab.

Good luck with your puppy, puppys are so tiring and lab puppys are most stubborn and very hard to move once they get to five months. I've just got a Jack Russell puppy, Labs are definitely more tiring but Jack Russells are faster.

He should get along fine. You need to not allow him to get excited and over anxious when you introduce the puppy. Take the 10 yr old for a walk and release some of his energy prior to introducing. Play with the puppy and tire him a bit. Let them sniff, smell and hump, its all a natural way of introduction and dominating so they know their place. My pug knows my lab is boss, but they have a great time playing.

It varies from dog to dog really. But from my experience (used to have several black labs until I had to give them away), I've never had a lab that didn't like other dogs. They were usually just extremely playful.
