The collar I'm referring to has links and compresses when they pull, but his neck is so thick it doesn't fit him. I want him to walk right next to me at my pace.

Hello,
My little girl Holly (23lbs) need hip surgery. she had a knee replacement 2 years ago and her knee is super strong, but now her femur joints are slipping and both need to be replace. My question is my vet wants to operated on both at the same time. He has assured me thats procedure is done when both femur joints are slipping. She is in pain and is on rinadyl 25mg she gets half a pill every 12 hours. My question is my vet correct with performing the operation on both at the same time? Or is there anything else I can do to help her instead of the operation
Thanks
Sue

I have a dog that barks ocassionally and my neighbor has made several complaints to animal control. I have spoken with my other neighbors and no one else seems to notice or be bothered. What can animal control do, besides fine me? Can they take the dog?

I am considering adopting a maltipoo or shihpoo from a friend. I am wondering if anyone knows about their termpermant. Are they rather melow? I live in a condo and I am hoping they will not turn out to be too barky. There is not much information online about these breeds and I would love to know what are people's first hand experience with these mix breeds? Thank you

Ok, for all you perverts out there, no I do not mean in that way.
BUT.. I love my pug puppy so so so much, almost as much as my husband. He is so much fun to play with and is just so stinkin' cute! He sleeps in our bed and just cuddles me to death, and in the morning he wakes me up and licks my face til I wake up and I LOVE every little thing about him, even when he is bad, I still love him. Is there something wrong with me, lol, to love an animal so much?? I feel almost as if he is part human (yeah, I know I'm a dork)

My female Papillon is a year old and we just got her spayed two days ago. She is taking it much better than anyone could have hoped for; she does not complain of pain in any way and she is as happy and energetic as she was before she went to the vet. Unfortuanately, this means that she's discovered the stitches in her belly and is trying to remove them by scratching and biting! I can't be with her twenty-four seven (I go to school, after all) and I fear that she'll bite them out when I crate her for the night. Is there any way that I can stop this?

My dog had a litter of twelve. On the second day, I moved the puppies into the kennel in the backyard. I try to respect her space by restraining from handling her puppies too much. Something strange happened on the third day. I noticed that she would be handling one of the puppies more than usual. She would carry it out of the dog house and then go back in with it. Finally, she removed that puppy and placed it under the house. I thought maybe because she might be relocating her litter into a cooler spot. If not, what could be the reason for her behavior?
