Ok, for all you perverts out there, no I do not mean in that way.
BUT.. I love my pug puppy so so so much, almost as much as my husband. He is so much fun to play with and is just so stinkin' cute! He sleeps in our bed and just cuddles me to death, and in the morning he wakes me up and licks my face til I wake up and I LOVE every little thing about him, even when he is bad, I still love him. Is there something wrong with me, lol, to love an animal so much?? I feel almost as if he is part human (yeah, I know I'm a dork)

nothing wrong with loving your dog to pieces, there are many of us out there. My neighbor's husband says that if there was a fire, his wife would save the dog first. For all the other animal lovers out there and b/c our pets give us so much back, please think of assisting animal rescues and many can be found on the internet. These people transport abandoned and rescued dogs, work with vets to get them healthy and then find homes for them. Sometimes they need assistance with a dog transport or a donation of dog comfy pads so the abused animal doesn't have to sleep on the kennel floor. There are so many animals not as lucky as ours. If all of us can give a little to make life even a little better for an abused , abandoned and unloved animal. http://www.boxerangelsrescue.com/ This is just one and there are many - your heart will break when you read the stories - also http://www.kuranda.com/shop/donate.asp?intShelterID=1214&strFormStage=b - takes donations to all kinds of shelters for beds and/or bed pads. Thanks!!

No there is nothing wrong with that. It would be wonderful if there were more people that have pets and care for them so much. I have 2 cats and 1 dog and they love me very much and I love them back and they know it. We all have lots of fun. Only one kitty cuddles with me tho' but that's OK because the other is 90 years old in cat years but still very cute and loving. My dog sleeps right beside my bed at night. Sometimes goes to bed before me. Good for you!

Is it absolutely normal to love a dog that way! Maybe it's because you've never had a child before so that's why you're treating him like one! Don't think about what it'll feel like when he's gone, tresure the moment you have with him!

Well, I guess I'm a dork, too then! lol My wife and I consider our dogs as our children. We don't have children so to us they are children. We love them so much and people think we are crazy, but I trust them more than I do most people. They are so loyal and always make me laugh. When one of us is sick, they'll stay in bed right next to us until we're well. They are always happy to see you even if you're not in a good mood or if you're sad. There's really nothing to compare to the unconditional love of a dog. I think you're quite normal.

I hope it is, i love my dog to death, i love her most of all, because they are so loving and innocent!! I am away at college and i miss her most of all more than my parents and brother and friends!! and i think about her all the time cause i would always play with her and walk her and she follows me everywhere, she makes me happy, of course i have had her for 10 years and i can't see me without her. so i hope it's not abnormal, i feel like a dork when i say it but it's the truth!!

YOU ARE DEFINITLY NOT A DORK. I loved my Great Dane Bruce (Bruce Almighty) a bunch. He would "hug" me before bed by putting his head on my hip on the bed. Our pets can be our best friends. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you. They say people look like there pets, I take that further, our pets are actually an extension of our personalities, likes, dislikes, and needs. Love your baby all you want to YOU WILL LIVE LONGER BECAUSE OF IT. Medically proven advice.

well it's not fair to your husband. If you were to wake and he'd lick your face you would think 'what a weirdo'. I never really understood people's obsession with animals but I think that is cuz I have never had an animal that was mine I've always had dogs in the home but they always sucked cuz my parents spoiled them I think if I had a dog it would become more compatible with my personality and I would like it more. So, no it's not weird. My social psych teacher loved her dog a whole lot and would always talk about him in class. She told us how he would give her kisses and that's when the class started teasing her about it.

You are not a dork! I Love my dog too, with a capital L! And I think my dog's part human too cause he actually understands me! No, really! One day I asked him, "Are you hungry, little guy?" And he went inside and brought back a bone! And I had no clue where it came from! So, don't feel like that. It's perfectly normal. :)

You're not a dork! You have no kids, right? I say that because we don't yet, and our yellow lab is our baby. In fact, our first lab was recently stolen and we feel like we lost a child. Animals are very special, and dogs indeed are man's best friend. I believe we are hardwired from creation to care for animals (like Adam and Eve did) and is therapeutic for them and us.

Yes in my book it is totally normal to excessively love your dog. I have a 14 yrs. old Chihuahua named Bubba and I cannot leave home with-out him. I would not even think about it. I bought a puppy pouch that I wear over my shoulders to carry him in when we are out and about. I cannot go to sleep at night with-out him. We have been together ever since he was 2 wks. old. I love him with all my heart, mind, and soul.
