oh i hope not. so sorry for you, it's difficult when we can't pick our neighbors.
i know how it is when dogs bark in the night, and i have 7 dogs. so really i know both sides.
but since your dog only barks occasionally and not excessively, then i think you just have a crappy neighbor.
i hope everything works out good for your dog

Sorry to hear of your problem. Some people just have to complain to feel important.
The next time animal control is at your door step - politely ask advice on collar and bark suppressive devises that animal control approves. Also ask animals controls advise as to obedience training that could help your dog. If you are working on the problem , asking advise from professionals and your dog is well cared for (license , shots, occasional vet checks , well fed and watered)you should have no problems keeping your pet.
The animal control may also be able to tell you if anything can be done about your neighbor (short of moving) so you don't look like the villain for owning a pet.

It depends on your local jurisdiction. To be proactive, you may want to call animal control to find out what your rights are as a pet owner with an annoying neighbor.
A citronella no-bark collar will keep your dog from barking and it's humane. It just shoots a puff of citronella oil whenever your dog barks (like one of those air fresheners). They're kind of expensive (about $100), but cheaper than a fine from animal control.

They can take you befor the control board to decide what to do. They can take your dogs away if enough complaints are made. You could try a no bark collar on the dog. There are several types. Search the internet on No Bark Dog Collars

A dog should be trained on how to eat, walk with you, not to bark, potty training and sleep on its place etc. You can teach anything to your puppy, dogs get trained easily with some good instructions. If you want some good training tips visit https://tr.im/tHhdO
If properly trained, they should also understand whistle and gesture equivalents for all the relevant commands, e.g. short whistle or finger raised sit, long whistle or flat hand lay down, and so on.
It's important that they also get gestures and whistles as voice may not be sufficient over long distances and under certain circumstances.

Dude I hate neighbors that are gayed out like that. I mean I have seen alot come and go and I'm only 20. I mean there was one guy that didn't like they way I mowed grass and then there was another one that complained about by dogs.
I did have aninmal control come to my house and try to take one of my dogs beacause it chased some guy down the street each time he has is dirt bike which was illegel in the first place. I know they can take them but if he tried too he would got hurt/beatdown very badly. I don't care no one touches my dog. Anyways the only thing you can do is well nothing just take it. You can however stop them from coming by busting up your neighbor and making him understand he don't want to mess with you.

Why even ask us, don't you think it would be nice not to have a dog barking in the neighbourhood. Why irritate your neighbour more. Its not what can the animal control do, beside them taking the dog away from you. Ask your neighbour what he can do??????? There is no need a barking dog. Dog's are like kids. You need to teach them rules and you have a happy dog and happy kids. So be kind to yourself and your neighbours.

They can take a dog if it is bugging to many people. But if only one person is hearing your dog bark then that is not that bad.

The neighbor has already made more than one complaint.
I would bring the dog inside just to be safe.
You want the dog, and don't need the problem, right?
