The BEST place to adopt a puppy is to go to petfinder.com and contact your local humane society. Mixed breed puppies are GREAT, I am a Vet Tech student and too many great dogs are euthanized every day. Dogs want owners, they need owners, all they want to do is make people happy. Humane Societies select personable animals to keep and try and get adopted. Before you go to a breeder or store, go to you local humane society and look at those little faces and give one of these deserving animals a home.

Go to your local humane society and rescue a puppy. You will find some of the greatest pets there and you will be saving a life. Also, there are places that rescue animals if you're looking for a specific breed, you can probably find a rescue place for them by breed in your local paper.Remember to think about what type of puppy you get and that it will be the right breed for you and your family. For instance, if you have a backyard or just an apartment will make a difference, also if you have children. If you want an active breed or a more laid back personality. Puppies grow up so think about your decision and make it wisely. There is no greater love than the love of a pet and they are so loyal, too! Enjoy.

Have you contacted the local humane society? They litteraly get boxes of puppies, sometimes from people who dont want to be bothered. Thats how we got our lab when I was a kid, someone dumped a box of 5-6 wk old pups at the shelter. My mom got the only one that survived, and becuase she was so sick.. she didnt even have to pay the adoption fee. Mom had to feed her with an eye dropper.

I suggest, going to local places and reading the classified ads in the newspaper. Usually they might be older htan 1.5 - 2 years tho. Just so you're aware.
If you like, you could also buy the dog, if you are concerned with breed, gender, colour, etc.

That depends on what kind of puppy you want. Go check on the internet and write the breed of your dog and some sale options will come. Some sites it gives you a phone number. Call that person and he/she will tell you where their located. Congrats

Ok well you could get on your yahoo and look up puppies for sale around your area that is what we did and we found a cutie sweet little puppy.. try that I am sure it will work...good luck with your puppy finding....
