I have been searching the local Melbourne (AUS) Trading Post for purebred Labrador Puppies and I finally found some that I like.

The only problem is that the description says that only the MOTHER is available for showing. Should I be worried about this because the pups only cost $350 each?

*** I am NOT bargain hunting for my puppy so I am not interested in them because they are cheap - I am actually concerned because of their price.

Just wondering because their parents do not have papers or anything and because the father is not on show, the pups could have any kind of hereditary diseases.

I have a female two month old puppy with stenotic nares. The vet gave me antibotics and childrens benadryl to help her breath. And suggested I use a humidifier(which I have) My question is .. if I'm suppose to give her one fourth tsp. of Childrens Benadryl twice a day. Can I give her a little more between if she is breathing through her mouth after 5 or 6 hours of her dose? I feel like shes not comfortable and would like to know if anyone has had this problem and share their comments and suggestion espically if you are in the vet med world. thanks. T

This is for future referance, he's only 10 months now... When my dog gets older, I want to have a pup from him because he has the most wonderful personality, he has to be the dog they were thinking of when they said "a dog is man's best friend".

My dog a Bichon Frieze is a much loved part of our family, but occasionally for no reason he pees/poops in the floor; I get so frustrated because he does this at any given time, sometimes right after we have taken him outside. He also is nervous of some strangers & will pee in the floor right in front of someone if he is scared of them or doesn't like them. What can I do to correct this?

When I was a kid, every neighborhood had at least one beagle. Now I don't see these dogs anywhere anymore. Everyone has pitbulls. Why don't people love nice, friendly dogs anymore?

I always wondered why a litter of puppies have different colors of yarn around their neck? I see it in pictures all the time. Is it to tell what order they were born or what?

Hi Guys Im looking to get a dog, I can take it for a 20 minute walk/ run/game of fetch a day, I can groom it once a week, I have a backyard size of 100 square metres approx which is wher it would live. It would sleep outside in have a kennel, If it was very cold or pooring with rain or 30 degrees celcius heat i would let it inside to sleep but it would generally be an outsidew dog
Which breed would best suit my lifestyle

My mother in law had a diabetic dachund (sp?). My mixed breed has been acting really weird. She drinks a lot of water, needs out a lot, and has watery stools. She seems to have the same energy level, is not lethargic, but she is very picky about DOG food. In fact, she won't eat most of it. If I cook her chicken or beef with rice, she eats it and she doesn't seem to have as many movements, or drink nearly as much water. She has lost a lot of weight, but was overweight to begin with from table feeding and low exercise. She is not underweight but the drop has been pretty fast. No vet open on the weekend, and she seems content.

My puppy has parvo and we just noticed it. Unfortunaltly there are no 24 hour vets in our area and he is lathargic, won't eat, won't drink, and has diareaha. We are giving him pedialite and gatorade and he throws it all up, so I wanted to know how can I keep him alive until Monday morning until I can get him to the vet in the morning? Please help I do not want to lose my puppy he is only 3 months old and we love him so much and I am scared because it is not looking good. Please help!!! Thanks.

I gave my dog Frontline Plus but he is biting and scratching and I hate it! We have a big, woody back yard. I have found 1 or 2 fleas on him a week or so ago, none since. I went out and raked up all the leaves and debris so the yard is clean but he's still itching. Can I double up on Frontline? Is there anything I can put on the grass to kill bugs/fleas?

Second question: if the dog's nails are clicking on the hardwood and tile floors, are they too long? Should he not click click click as he walks around the house? I do cut them often but maybe not enough?

Thanks I really appreciate it.

My dog started her heat on the tenth of october. I have also have a male dog. Both are not fixed. I have been keeping them separated doing shifts through out the day putting one in its crate and letting the other out of its crate. Can the female still get pregnant if the bleeding has stopped? I am trying to save up to get the male nutered but it will take a few months to get up the funds. I want to be responsible and not create puppies but I feel bad having to have them on shifts in and out of the crates. What sould I do?

wel then clean her well & put ointment on her sores & raw skin. She loses alot of hair at times too. We do give her benedryl occasionaly too & it does help some. We can not afford all the allergy tests. We do give her special dog food & special dog shampoo. When she gets bad like that, we do put a sweater on her & sometimes we have to put a malot on her. She is 12 pounds & 3 years old. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? I feel so bad to see her this way. She is such an adorable little one. Any comments would be much appreciated. Thankyou!
