The puppies are Cavalier King Charles Spaniel purebreds, and on's male, one's female. If you have any tips on crate training, obedience training, or even just day-to-day life, anything would help before we pick them up on Thursday when they're 8 weeks old.

-I have 3 siblings, 11 months old, 6 years old, 10 year old, and me (12 year old)
-Someone will be in the house only 4 times a week, but we have a fence, a good sized lawn and our neighbour also has a dog for it to socialize with while I am at school (8:00am - 4:00pm + 4 times a week I will go to taekwondo (40 minutes))
-We have a pretty large basement with hardly any furniture (just a tv, couch and an old desk + chaire)
-The dog can't look like a rat... my dad hates chihuaha like dogs and the ones with scrunched up faces
-The dog has to be pretty quiet because of my sisters naps... not mute, just not very disruptive
-The dog can't be very big or shed ALOT because it's not like we have maids and stuff
-The dog has to be able to be brought around. We are moving to sri lanka in about a year and a half and it cant be one that gets sick

Please help? Sorrry about all the restrictions, but this is why I need your help.

I have 3 Chocolate Labs. The adult male is nine, the adult female is 3 and the male pup is 4 months. They were all around another pup that had been around a dog that had been in a Kennel for a day or two. None of the dogs showed signs of Kennel cough at that time. But the dog that went to the Kennel developed a cough and the other dogs at that home did too. About t weeks later my older male developed a cough and two weeks after that my male pup has started coughing. The dogs are not around any other dogs and are outside dogs. What can be done for the coughing. From what I understand it is an air borne disease from a virus. The vet said they could prescribe anitbiotics, but everyone I've talked to says that the dogs get well in about the same amount of time and it doesn't matter if you give them medicine or not. Any ideas you know of that work. Can my female be prevented from getting it after already being around the other dogs.

Hiya Guys and Gals
I have had dogs all my life 30 plus years now, ive had large breeds toy breeds pedigree's and mutts, i cannot for the life of me understand WHY people use these Stupid, Stupid, gadgets for there dogs, ie:- My dog will not stop barking... My pulls on the lead... My dog crys when i go out...... And what do some people give as an answer...... Get a spray collar, Get a shock collar, put pebbles in a bottle and shake it, (and scar the life out of the dog)
For goodness sake what happend to old fashion dog training, why do ppl insist on these god for saken things, if you cant control your dog without these torcher items, maybe you should not have a dog in the 1st place......
Dogs are companions, not bleeping fashion items !!!!!!!

This is the second time it has happened. I called the dog pound the first time, but the owners got him back. They let him run loose in the neighborhood and I have an 8 year old daughter who likes to play outside. He also has a Pitbull who hangs out with him.

My puppy is yelping anytime anyone picks him up, but he was running jumping on our walk only 20 min ago. Yesterday I took him to a puppy class and he was hainvg fun play with the other puppies. this issue has been happening for a 1 or 2 days so this is fairly sudden. He seems tired he has had his vacine shots he will be 4 months old on november 5th.is his hormones kicking in? he is breathing hard when asleep/ chest moves quick. is he sick? Im worried I want to make sure my puppy is not hurt. he doesn't want to play, he doesn't want to do anything. please help

he's a chihuahua and his name is chico. and he kinda has some behavioral issues (as do all chihuahuas). so lately i have been using a squirt bottle to correct him, but immediately after i squirt him, i scoop him up and hug him and kiss him and almost start bawling lol. coz i feel so BAD! does this ruin the punishment? lol
yes, i know i am pathetic......
omg, i don't know what i'll do when i have kids and i have to correct them.....geez.....
so seriously tho, does it ruin the punishment?

she is a little boxer and she is about 5 weeks along and is already getting really big... should i worry... i would love the puppies but i lover her more... don't know what i would do if anything happened to her will carring her babies.. if it come right down to it either puppies or her... it would definitly be her...

I want to start a dog day care in Oklahoma City or some other big city in OK. I have always heard i have to get rid of my dog because i cant take care of it during the day. Do you think it is a good business idea and would you pay for it. I would train the dog with the basic commands (sit stay rollover...)and the price would be around 5-7 dollars a day per dog.

i have 2 local public parks for bbq and swimming, but both have signs up that say no dogs allowed even on leashes. i dont understand this. i was hoping to take my new husky puppy to the park. but now i cant. I walk her 2 times a day(6am till 6 30am) and then 7pm till 7 30pm. on the sidewalks around my neighborhood,
was wondering if this is enough.? or what else could i do? she dont like to be outside by herself, she barks. and digs yard. tried that and this is what she has done. I cant run with her, i just walk with her. she is 6 months old. i have a full size basement for her. she dont like the rain.
anyone else with walking their dog to be around other dogs, and public park wont let you bring your dog to park.??
treats? I give her a treat for not pulling on leash while on walk, and give her treat for sitting. but how much is too much??
i give her a bowl of food in morning by 6pm when i get home its gone, does she need more to get through the night.??

We found her on the side of the road. Im not sure how old she is but she still has baby teeth. Im not sure if she had been beaten or if hit by something but her back is scrapped up and her hair was all matted. I cleaned her up and am applying ointment on the sores. But she is scratching at it all the time. Any advice?

I have a two dogs- a Labrador 85 pounds and a Chihuahua. I have a Mitsubishi Mirage car. I need a pet barrier that I can use with my car. I enter my Labrador to the back seat and he does not stays there - he jumps to the front seat and althought he is a tranquil dog- he only puts his paw on my leg ( thats dangerous when you are driving) so I need you guys to help me- I need a pet dog barrier but small enough for a Mitsubishi car. Tell me where I can buy it- For now, price is not a problem
Remember 85 pound intelligent dog ( he is trained but his owner not)

They are turning 6 weeks tomorrow and my vet is closed today. Yesterday I just started feeding them and I fed them ESBILAC 2nd step puppy food. I also threw in a small chewing toy also from esbilac. It was a little latex binki that was supposedly vanilla flavored. I barely saw the worms today, I have never seen a worm come out of their butts til today. We had just been given another dog (female border terrier) and she was three months old, she had worms also. Yes, we allowed contact between the two dogs, but we had previously taken B.J to the vet for a checkup and they de-wormed her so do you think the worms were transfered from b.j (border terrier) to the puppies if they licked eachother? what kind of worms could they be? Are they serious? What should I do, my vet is closed?!

I had an 8 yr old Husky and last year got and American Eskie puppy, who is now 1 1/2 yrs old. My husky loved and "raised" the puppy as his buddy. Our Husky was the alpha male but let the eskie run wild, he'd let him eat first, give him his treats, ect. yet when it came down to it, the Husky was the dominant. He protected the eskie, because the eskie thought he was bigger than he is and would always get himself in trouble with other dogs. LOL. The puppy would bite and jump on the husky playing. Now, the husky died a couple of months ago, and from the day after he died our eskie started growling and snapping at everyone outside of the family. He NEVER did this before and i thought it would pass but it been 2 months and he is still suspicious of EVERYONE, even children. Is there anything i can do??????
