We found her on the side of the road. Im not sure how old she is but she still has baby teeth. Im not sure if she had been beaten or if hit by something but her back is scrapped up and her hair was all matted. I cleaned her up and am applying ointment on the sores. But she is scratching at it all the time. Any advice?

I think you should take her into the vet and have a skin scrapping done to rule out mange. She may also have some allergies, which is not uncommon. You can change her diet, and use a gentle shampoo and see if that eases her discomfort. You can also give a very small dose of Benadryl (childs Benadryl for her size) and see if she stops itching for a bit... the medication will probably make her drowsy... Good Luck.

she is scratching because it is irritating her. continue to clean the scratch and apply neosporn to the wound until you can get her to the vet for proper medical attention. also make sure her nails are short so as not to aggravate the situation.

Take her to the vet. She probably has a skin allergy or an infection.

Take her to the vet- skin problems are difficult to diagnose unless they are looked at.
