any and all dogs are safe around children as long as they are supervised properly and children should know how to treat a dog. it may be a bit more hyper than say lab--but with training it will be a great dog!

I'd say yes, the dog probably won't get to big and usually those breeds are pretty calm. I used to have a cockerspaniel. But it does truely depend on the actual dog's temperment. (not all dogs behaviors can be predicted)

My parents have a jack Russell/Brit spaniel mix who is about one year old. She is wonderful with the kids - all ages - in their neighborhood! When the dog was staying at my house, my granddaughters came visiting. This was the first time the dog had been at my house and the first time meeting the girls. The dog was wonderful, and when the girls left, my 4 year old looked at her mom and said "mommy -- I want THIS dog"!!

they variety, I even have accepted 2 that have been positive. besides the undeniable fact that I even have been bitten 4 situations from canines, as quickly as from a border collie i replaced into assisting pass out of a hectic highway after an twist of destiny, as quickly as via some crossbreed (terrier sized yet uncertain what) and two times via Jack Russellls. as quickly as while i replaced into approximately 6, the different time i replaced into 15. in case you get from a rescue they now and lower back understand if the animals are stable with little ones and different animals, the different selection is to bypass to a breeder and spot what the mums temperament is like around your baby. A Mum with a solid temperament is greater in all probability to bypass it directly to the doggies.

any animal you have could be nasty or very well mannered around kids, its how You train, your pet that's how it will act, no blame on breed, its the owners who make bad pets
(not meaning you are a bad owner lol )
I wouldn't recommend a Russell as your 1st choice of dog if you haven't had a dog before

i don't see why not. neither breed is known for being agressive and the dog should stay pretty small. sounds like it may be a little hyper though....maybe the kids will be good for the dog, they can play it out for you!!!!
have fun!

I think it would be a rather hyperactive dog but if you train it and also instruct your kids I guess it would be OK.
