I just adopted a chihuahua/pekingese mix from a shelter 6 days ago. Since then, he's been having mixed consistencies in his stool (ranging from yellowish, squirting diarrhea to brown loose diarrhea to dark brown/black solid stool-all in random order). On top of that, he's been VERY sleepy and lazy, always falling asleep rather than playing around. He also has no desire for his chew toys or biscuits. He also doesn't eat or drink much. I started feeding him canned food, and he eats a little bit of that. His nose is also runny (clear, watery) and he seems to be sneezing/coughing alot. Just a few days ago, he started vomiting thick, mucousy vomit with food (it was more like he coughed it up really hard, because it sprayed). I took him to the vet, who did some tests, but all came back negative. Nothing's changed with the antibiotics he's on. He's about 5 weeks old, and already received his first set of vaccinations. I don't know what's wrong with him? Will he get over it soon? Thanks!

My new puppy, 4 months old. seems to have a b.m. alot! About 6 or 8 times a day. I am feeding him a vet approved kibble, in the appropriate amount. My other dog, 10 years old, potties once a day? They are both boston bull dogs. Is this normal? I have only had adult dogs, this is my first time with a puppy.

me and my husband have 2 puppies that just don't seem to get along at all! One is a 4 month old Female malamute/husky mix and the other one is a 2 month old Male St. Benard. We try to put them together but it don't seem like they are playing! The St growls and his bite is a LOT harder then hers and they both wimper and I can't stand to see them get hurt! We never owned 2 dogs at once and just kinda thought that they would get along from the start! We are going to get them both neatured/spayed but that isn't for a couple of months. I can tell that they are compleatly different, the st is lazy and just likes to lay around and sleep and the husky/malamute is hyper and very active. Once they are fixed will they get along?PLZ HELP!

She's 5-months old -- today she went from totally fine to really bizarre. We went to the park today two hours ago and she was fine -- ran around, fetched, drank plenty of water. Bowel movement this a.m. was okay but I think she chewed off a lot of tree bark after that today. Now she's shaking like a leaf, hiding in the strangest corners/spots within the house and just stares at me. She hasn't thrown up or had diarrhea yet. Seems like her temp and breathing are normal. I don't want to take her to the hospital and pay ridiculous exam fees -- any thoughts?

My boyfriend and I have finally called it quits after trying for 6 years. We don't live together, however, it was his idea to get a German Shepherd dog about 2 months ago. He is a 4 month puppy now and we decided that it was both of ours when we got him. The dog favors me and I love it more than any other pet I have ever had...I love it like a child. However, I feel like I can't take this dog away from my ex because the dog has another dog to play with there and my ex's family is really in love with the dog too. We were transported the dog back in forth between us, but I don't know if that would work now...I miss him terribly and have been crying for 2 days and I don't want him to think that I abondoned him because the last time I saw him to say goodbye, he looked at me so sad and knew that I was leaving? Is there a way of staying separated from my ex but still having the dog in both of our lives????

Well, my neighbor across the street has 4 dogs. All pits (Sugar, Honey, Haze, and Berry). Sometimes he'll let one dog at a time off the leash or out the kennel. But the dog NEVER goes out his yard. If the dog sees me walking my two dogs or something and he starts walking over, he'll say, "Ah ah, ...Don;t you go there..." or some such other small correction, and the dog turns around and stays in the yard... I don't get it. And he JUST got Berry a few days ago, and Berry already listens to him and doesn't go out the yard... None of the dogs are fixed. They're breeding them. Haze is the only male, the rest are females... And also, when I rollerblade with my dogs, some people have dogs in their yard and the dog will bark or run up to the edge of the yard, but won't ever leave it. And no one's around outside witht the dog... I highly doubt it's any kind of electric fence or whatnot b/c many dog owners here barely take care of the dogs, much less spend money on an electric fence...

My dog is getting very old and he is an AKC champion. Before he passes away I would like to save his sperm so I can breed a female in the future with it. Any ideas?

Our Dog has a terrible oil and smell that accumulates within hours of taking a bath, she is a mutt (no clue what types of dogs). she been given steroid shots, coal shampoo baths, a venicin (deer meat) dog food diet all reccomended by our doctor, and she also bites her feet uncontrollably till she rips skin! What is this, why does it happen, and the question i want answered most is how to treat it? Thank you soo much for any possible input.

I am pretty sure my dog as an allergy of some kind. She scratches all day long. Poor thing. This has happened before about 6 months ago and I took her to the vet they put her on a medicine that made her pee ALOT and she often peed while in her sleep so I took her off the meds.

I was wondering if it safe to give her some benadryl and see if that helps. She is a 45 lb. Choc lab mix.

What happens after I get the supp. transfer from AKC? Do I dual register the pups or will AKC not recognize the litter with a CKC Sire & only let me CKC register the pups? How do I ACA register? I've checked the website & emailed twice w/no reply.
