All puppies get teeth and the mothers still nurse just fine. Trim the nails on the puppies and they will be fine. Puppies this age should not have diarhea either. Stop trying to wean them, and get them to the vet for help. You may not be doing ti right or feeding them who knows what. SEE THE VET!!!!!!! If the puppy is not getting enough fluids and has diarrhea, it will die quickly of dehydration!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Kerry, The puppies are to young to be wean. Mommy will know when to wean her babies.Which should be at 5-6 weeks old. They need all the vits.and the good stuff that mommy has in her milk. The little one who has been sick and now won't drink water and has diarrhea.Diarrhea will dehydrate him and not drinking water to. Your pup has all the signs of parvo. This is a killer in puppies. You need to take him to the vet A.S.A.P. and you will probably have to get shots for all the pups. They have been exposed to parvo. Please act fast. A Friend.

I don't get how you are weaning 3 week old puppies!! What is with that?! If you did not want your dog to be a mother, you should not have let her get pregnant!! That mommy dog will wean on her own, it should not be up to you do it.

You are depriving those young babies of their mother's closeness and her nutritional milk.

If they can still nurse from her, then get out of the way of nature and let them go back to her and nurse.
At least give the puppies another couple of weeks before introducing them to food.

For the poor sick puppy, take it to the vet . . . . . you already don't know what you're doing, don't even try to figure out what the problem might be, just take it in to be seen.

Maybe, you should have the mother dog spayed, so she or you won't have to go through process anymore. JEEEEZZE!!!

give the pup some glucose use a syringe and give it to him a few times a day get down vets and get some puppy milk and give it to pups you shouldn't be weaning them yet you need to be so care full or you will end up with a big problem the only thing you should be giving them is puppy milk from the vets stop trying to wean them they are far to young go and get them some milk its full of all the vitamins that they need get some little babys bottle as i told you before and feed them i think you will find that they will settle down and you dont give those pup any tablets unless they are giveing to you by the vet just do as i said and put a drop of glucose in some warm water and give it to the pup

Isn't 3 weeks a bit early to wean them? Did your vet advise you to wean? It's probably just his tummy is a bit upset with eating food for the first time, I'd keep an eye on him overnight and get him to the vets in the morning if he is no better.

But you know if you are really worried, then I'd get him to an emergency vet tonight, Better to be safe than sorry.

Good luck, I hope he is ok, much love x

3 weeks is far too early to wean, the pup needs his Mum and feeding will comfort him. Don't force him to feed; if you get fluid in his lungs he'll get pneumonia.
He needs to go to the vet first thing tomorrow, upset stomach can kill a pup very quickly.

It is way too early to wean..Have you checked the puppy's nails? that is more often the problem than their teeth..Pup's nails need the sharp tips clipped from about 2 weeks on..I would certainly put the sick one back on mom...he is not mature enough to switch to puppy food yet..Even if you have to give him puppy formula from a bottle, will be better than trying to force maturity on him..Puppies are conceived at different times, so they are usually not all of the same maturity..

You made a critical error. YOU do not wean animals from their mother, the MOTHER does.

You could try puppy formula and feed the little guy with a bottle. That might help.

I hope he's ok =(

good, i am glad you're worried. now the question is...Are you worried enough to take the pup to another vet?

diarrhea is not normal for a pup. it could have the deadly Parvo, in which case it could die soon and pass the sickness to the other pups.

i don't want to scare you, but really you should get him seen about now.

has the mother of the pups been routinely vaccinated? because if she hasnt then the chances of the pups getting parvo is much higher. take that pup and put it in a box with a nice towel to wrap him up in. pour some COOL boiled water into a cup that has been rinsed in boiling water to make it sterile and every 15 minutes drip some of the water into his mouth, the most importent thing is to keep him hydrated, if you think he has colic then sit him n your knee like a babynd wind him, but make to u keep him hydrated like i said
