Depends on what your Hunting for! If it is Rabbit...obviously Beagles do the trick.
Racoons, Hound Dogs.
Boar....wild pups from Dens.
Quail....Bird Dogs
There are many types of Hunting Dogs, but the best is what youy put in to it and also remember to get a Dog full blooded from a good Bloodline. Then start training them as early as five weeks for some and six weeks for others. The sooner the better.

I have a strong belief that Black Labradors are the best for this sort of work. Each specialized breed has their own specialty, and Black Labs, if trained from birth to do this kind of work, will make the best companions and hunting dogs. Best of both worlds. The reason I know all of this is because a buddy of mine from Montana uses three Black Labs and told me all of this on our numerous Wyoming and Montana hunting trips. Good Luck!

depends on what you are hunting but a Beagle is a good rounded hunting dog.
Fox, quail, wild turkey, mongoose, badger, groundhog, squirrel...Beagle will get them all.
Awesome dogs around kids and family as well.....little mouthy as pups but great companions. Had one for 15 yrs.
