Kennel or whatever you call it , home. I love my dogs to death would spend any amount of money on them. I would love for them to have a place of their own (plus my wife has to much furniture I don't want them to get hurt running in circles like they do when we all play.....but I will probably be in there more than they will and I live on 6 acres so they have plenty of running room people.

Thank you to the people answer my questions and not being a smart a$$ about things. People always want to judge other breeders when they are 9 out 10 the ones who are doing things the wrong way!

set that bldg. up for a show room for pups... a space for whelping... and dont breed more dogs than you can live with... dogs should NEVER spend their LIVES in a crate... fence the yard and put in a doggie door , one in the kennel to the yard AND one in the house to the yard... let them use the kennel all day for playing, and hanging out when your out , but in the house with you when your home.this is what i do with my great danes.

I'm not a breeder but a dog lover and my answer is based on if I was looking to buy a dog from a kennel, I would want the place to be clean, organized to some degree, inviting to both humans and animals. It would be nice to see that each litter would have its own pen/room as well as a play room with fun puppy safe toys. I would like to see that the dogs can get to the yard and I would like a spot that if I wanted to pick up a puppy and see if it was the right one for me, a space where we could take it to play with handle and such without the distractions of other people or dogs.

When it comes to the structure of the building itself, you might want to consider asking a architect.

Best of luck :)

Good breeders have their dogs in the house because they are an extension of our families. People who have "kennels" are (almost always) puppy torture mills. No dog should be confined to a building (connected to the house or not) and live out there just to be a puppy making machine. I've seen way too much horror from these places. Don't start another, please.

If I were to have an outside kennel, I would want heated floors.

My aunt split the room in 2, as well as the yard, so there would be no unauthorized breeding...
