Meg
Dog
Border Collie

Size: Medium
Age: Young
Sex: Female
ID: 020

Notes:

Meg is a 1 1/2 year old female tri color border collie. She is a very active, young girl and needs to go to a home that can give her plenty of things to do. Meg is timid of loud noises (fireworks, loud trucks). She is good with other dogs once she is comfortable with them, and seems to warm up to male dogs quicker than female dogs. Meg is fine with the cat in her foster home, but she will take a lot of training in a new home to learn to leave cats alone, so we would like to place her in a home without cats.

Meg recently had a chance to work sheep and she did very well. She has a nice, natural balance, she takes change of direction well and she stayed off the sheep when flanking. She did not respond to any common commands, so it doesn't appear that she has been formally trained at all. She patiently waited her turn to work, but didn't take her eye off of the stock at all while waiting.

Meg knows 'sit', 'crate', 'easy', and 'come', and she is learning more and more things every day. She is crate trained and housebroken. She was a leash puller, but now knows not to do that, she has also learned not to bolt out doors if given the chance. Meg loves the car and will jump in if the door is open. She is athletic and very fast and likes to play with toys - she also likes to de-squeak toys if given the chance. When she first came into rescue she was slightly nervous in the house, now she settles nicely and will sleep or chew a bone until the next activity comes along.

Prince
Dog
Border Collie
Size: Medium
Age: Young
Sex: Male
ID: 019
Notes:
*Adoption Pending*

Prince is a good-looking young male border collie! He is around one year of age and is on the smaller side for a male, weighing about 35 lbs. He is thin, though, and needs to put on a few pounds.

Prince has a great temperament, gets along well with other dogs and settles nicely in the house. He is learning some basic manners, he knows 'sit' , 'crate' , 'wait' and 'off', he is crate trained and he is house trained. Prince has been very confident and friendly around everyone he has met.

Prince loves to play chase in the yard, whether he is the chaser or the chasee, he has a very happy go lucky attitude. He also likes playing with his toys in the yard and in the house. His favorites are squeaky toys, but he also enjoys a good game of tug with the other dogs and he likes to retrieve the tennis ball in the yard.

If you are interested in any kind of dog training,

On a recent walk I saw a skin like substance holding my dogs poo together (like a sausage). Is this normal or a sign of something?

We just got a new puppy, a black lab mix, she's about 3 months old and she wants to chew on everything! Even the edges of the carpet. I sprayed it with Bitter Yuck stuff, but she still chews on it. We give her raw hide chews all the time but she goes thru them like candy.

She also nips at us (not hard) when we get after her for misbehaving... how do we get her to stop do it, she only does that more when we start to get after her, and she'll bark at us too.

My 4 month ols Chuhuahua puppy almost never barks.

The only exception is in the morning. She sleeps in my room in her crate. At about 6AM she starts crying to wake me up so I can take her outside so she can do her business. If I don't wake up she will bark only ONCE which will wake me up.

Through the entire day she does not bark at all. I am not saying I want a barking puppy. I just want to know if it is normal.

Thanks.

I have a 2-3 month old puppy and I've bought a harness to train her to lead. She hates it and when I try to lead her, she falls down. Is there a way that I can train her or should I wait until she's older?

Puggles are mixes between a Pug and a Beagle.
We aren't looking for any particular colors, just a cute dog.

I was sitting on the couch when my crazy pitt bull walked up to the couch and stuck his head between the cushions, trying to get something. he couldn't reach it, so he stepped back, stared at me, and starting crying and yelping. I got up and asked him what he wanted and he just stared at the couch. so I went behind the couch, tilted it forward. he reached under the couch, ate a runt and was happy.

Can I put a flea collar on her, or will that hurt the puppies?

I saw it last night, these people were trying to save their dog but had to leave it behind and it is from the dogs point of view and all of the sudden the dog goes underwater, and the message have a plan to save your animals appears.. I'm sorry, but I think that is the most disgusting commercial ever made. Please tell me someone agrees with me...

My male dog (who is 2 years old) has always been ok with this schedule.. ever since he was a puppy. During the week, he goes out before we leave for work and again before bed around 9... and he's completely content with it.. and of course weekends are different and he is usually outside all day.. I told someone that my dog only goes out twice and she was appalled.. what do you think?

Isis loves bully sticks, but Echo prefers greenies over them. (both dogs like both treats though) As far as pet treats go, what is your dog's favorite? Table scraps and people food don't count unless you feed a raw diet or use them routinely as a treat.

I just got a one year old poodle (supposedly spayed) that I think has gone into heat. I have no experience with this and am wondering how long the bloody discharge will last, as of how there isn't much, will it get heavier? How long does this last? Needless to say, we will be visiting the vet VERY soon.
Also, since she is white, I cannot get rid of the tear stains. How can I get rid of them and is there anything that can be done to help or prevent them?

I have a 3 moth old pit bull. She's been a little snotty lately and for the past couple of night has been sleeping like crazy. For instance, last night she slept for about 12 hours waking up here and there. She really hasn't been eating either. She has clear mucus from her nose. Is this okay or should I take Zoey to the vet?

He's ticking nicely, and is the runt of the litter. Hunter is the only name I can think of, so far.

There is a dog at a house outside of my work that i am like 95% sure is being abused. He has been tied up to the same tree on a 6 foot leash for the last 3-4 years rain/ snow/ hail or otherwise. he is a white dog that looks more brown than anything cuz he is so dirty!! Poor thing. I want to take this dog home with me so bad! He is a very sweet dog too. Would it be so bad under the circumstances to steal him? I would feel awful stealing someones dog but the obviously don't care about him that much and I could give him a loving home. WHAT DO YOU THINK?

I have had 2 sleepless nights just to tend to my puppy Beagle who cries in the evenings in his crate. I notice he takes 1.5 hours of sleep and 30 minutes play in between in regular intervals. I just do not want him though to just roam around the room because I need him to get used to staying in his crate. What do you think is the best thing to do?
