She is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, is 7 1/2 years old and is overweight. She has never had anything wrong with her before (even minor ailments) so I am extremely worried about her. She was spayed around 3 or 4 years ago. Could anybody tell me what causes this.....I would appreciate as much information as possible as to any possible cause. I know I need to see the vet as it seems serious, but in the meantime, please could you help me with any possibility of what it is. Thanks for taking your time to read this.

While I'm out at work, my dog sleeps on my couch. Is there a chemical or product on the market that will keep him off my sofa while I'm out?

My dog 4 pounder has been puking for the past two days. She seems ok not lethargic and she did have a bowel movement yesterday before the puking. I plan to take her to the vet today. Has anyone ever had this happened to there pet. She has had diarrhea before and she generally just eats very little and it passes in one day. But with this she has an appetite, eats and about an hour later she vomits her digested food.

We have 2 rat terrier mixes & a fullblood pit puppy. We have always feed the mixes whenever (we just leave the food out), but with the puppy we cannot do that because he poops in his cage/house. My husband wants to put all the dogs on a once or twice a day program because he says the mixes are eating too much & he is tired of cleaning up poop almost every day when he gets home from work. I don't blame him, but I am worried if they will be getting enough to eat. They cannot tell me when they are hungry. During the week, my husband wants to only feed them when we get home from work. He said they can go potty when we get up, but no eating. I feel bad & am concerned. Wanting any advice/help - thanks!!

I just got a wirehaired mini dachshund on Monday (two days ago) and we have her sleeping in her kennel at night, but there's a problem - every morning when I get up and take her out, she has pooped. I was told that they don't go where they sleep, and I have been exercising her about an hour before bedtime and I stop feeding her about two hours before. This is what we did with our German Shepherd and we didn't have any problems there. Please tell me that there's something I can do because I don't have time to give her a bath every morning AND get ready and off to work.

I looove the look of golden retrievers when they're puppies. I'd love to have one, but I don't like big dogs.
A couple of years ago this little girl at work (I teach elementary school) told me that her family has a miniature golden retriever. And, I asked her are you sure it's not a puppy that's going to get bigger later? Then she used her hands to show me the size of the puppy, and said it was 4 years old already.

Now, ever since then I've asked people, breeders included, if they know where I can get a miniature golden retriever and everybody says that they don't exist.

I've been asked to take in some purebred puppies and pay for all their care until I find them good homes. I've done rescue before but I had a good job then. If I don't help, they'll go to a high kill shelter. What if I take care of them and can't find good homes? Any honest, sincere answers will be appreciated.

I have 2 rare white Lahpso apsos. Mom just had a puppy. The puppy from birth throws her head around and walks with her head ****** to the side. At first I thought it may be a pinched nerve. But, she plays with her toys and slings them around in a violent manner. She couldn't do that if it was a pinched nerve. She falls down a lot too. However, she's only 7 wks. old. She seems normal in every other way. Should I be worried?

My poor dog always bleeds when we clip his toenails. We've tried everything. Our vet suggested more frequent clipping but we clip every 2 weeks in the hope the quick will recede but it never does. His nails are long, the quick is long, and it affects his gait. It is a very painful thing for him to go through and very emotional for him, my husband and I. We all dread when it has to be done. Someone told me that you could use a laser to trim a dog's nails painlessly and the laser would cauterize the nail so it would not bleed. I'm trying to find a veterinarian who does this procedure. I live in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. Is this procedure true or did someone just make this up? If this is a " for real " thing it would be the solution I've been looking for.

We have a Newfoundland in the South and aren't sure. He goes through the doggie door to the cool basement whenever he wants during the day when we are working. Then he's indoors with us most of the time. If he's shaved, would it be better or worse for him?

My rottie used to come let me know when he needed to go outside and do his business. He has, in the past week or so, started opening the back door by himself to go outside, but he can't get out of the screened enclosure, so he poops on the pool deck. What in the world is he thinking??

Before people breed their pets,( other than a professional who invest top dollar into their breeding stock for gentic prevention, testing, proper animal husbandry and primary goal to impove the breed and produce quality show stock), you should check out this site and get some perspective on what your actions lead to.
