Petsmart helps homeless pets!!!
They are wonderful with rescues. Without them hosting adoptions we would never be able to place the hundreds of pets just my organization does each year.

Petco is a cooler store but they do not have any near me so I have to make special trips there. PetSmart is in my neighborhood so I shop there more often.
I would put my vote in for Petco simply because I think it is a bit more unique than PetSmart.

PetSmart generally has cheaper prices and a better selection. They also have more employees available to help answer your questions and help you find things. I've also found that PetSmart is a better place to take my dogs since they have Oops stations in the stores. I can remember once at Petco the employees were offended that someones dog went in the store.

I like the treat bar at PetCo. Since I pack food into puzzle toys, I like that I can go and actually see the sizes and shapes of the treats to see if they'll fit into my toys.
I think PetSmart is swankier and has more bells and whistles, but I don't need swanky, just the basics.
I have to say, though that I was very impressed with the PetsHotel boarding facility at the PetSmart near me.

I like PetsMart more as they seem to be cheaper, Oh yeah and the winner is I go past there all the time. Don't have to worry about too many light and traffic as I would have to for me to go to PetCo.

I like petsmart but recently a new petco moved in closer to me and they seem just as educated. Go with which ever store is convient for you. But I favor Petsmart hehe! My chihuahua took puppy class there and he's just amazing now... I guess thats significant to me since he was a menance before graduating. =P

I like PetSmart better. They have a bigger variety of goods there. I have a Rainbow Lory and Petco will not order the specialty food he needs.

I like PetSmart. I think the prices are comparable. PetSmart is just closer to where I live.

It kind of depends.... From experience, petco is more expensive. I have found much better deals at petsmart...
