I have 2 rare white Lahpso apsos. Mom just had a puppy. The puppy from birth throws her head around and walks with her head ****** to the side. At first I thought it may be a pinched nerve. But, she plays with her toys and slings them around in a violent manner. She couldn't do that if it was a pinched nerve. She falls down a lot too. However, she's only 7 wks. old. She seems normal in every other way. Should I be worried?

Certainly take her to a vet who specialized in neurological disorders. White's have genetic defects including deafness and she may simply be deaf in one ear. It could also be structural, but it sounds like she's flexible, so a good vet, with neuro experience, would be able to properly direct you.

Absolutely you should be worried. This puppy sounds like she has a neurological defect. When I first read your question, I thought maybe an inner ear problem but as I read further it seems to be more neurological. You are correct, it is not a pinched nerve either. Good luck to you. I hope your family vet can shed some light on the problem.

I am only a vet tech student, but what you are describing definitely isn't normal. Take your puppy to the vet. It could be a lot of things going on, but i would guess it is neurological. Good luck!

In many breeds, whites are rare because they tend to have genetic defects, especially deafness and neurological problems.

Do you mean you bred a white to a white??? You should have chosen a stud with more pigment.

Why on earth are you breeding them??? Rare traits are usually rare because they are undesirable.

Take her to your vet and have her checked out. My vet doesnt charge for a new pet. Even a new puppy should be checked out.
