I saw it last night, these people were trying to save their dog but had to leave it behind and it is from the dogs point of view and all of the sudden the dog goes underwater, and the message have a plan to save your animals appears.. I'm sorry, but I think that is the most disgusting commercial ever made. Please tell me someone agrees with me...

Wow that does sound harsh but they want to get people to take action. So many pets died because they weren't allowed to go with the people. I do animal rescue and several people went down to come back with horror stories about not being able to save this one or that one. These people that did everything they could had to watch animals drown because of simple bureaucratic bull. All they are asking from you is support to keep this from happening again. It will be the same people that go to help and the same ones here supporting them and helping with their pets so they can help other animals. They want you to think about other lives that count on you for survival.

I hope the commercial makes everyone think and to realize its not a book you can replace it is a life. You are responsible for its life.

I think the commercial conveys a sad truth. Perhaps some people had no choice but to leave their animals, but a lot of people are simply idiots and need to understand that animals feel pain just like we do. They rely on their owners to care for them. There are too many negligent pet owners in the world. There should be a competency exam given for potential pet owners.

Haven't seen it yet, but (as stated in other answers) unlike the pet in the commercial, pets and people did actually die due to Katrina. I've read that because of pet owners' reluctance to leave their pets following Katrina, some future rescues will include pets along with other family members. Also, registering your pet with a microchip pet recovery service like 'Home Again" will help reunite pets and owners if they are alive, but separated.

Is a made up commercial any worse than the real world nasty things the microchip manufacturer has done to ensure that it becomes the law to microchip every animal in the country?

The commercial is insensitive, to be sure, but I am more concerned with mandatory chipping as a way to track my animals, their healthcare, pet limit laws, breeder permits, licensing, etc.

they didnt really hurt or kill a dog to make the commercial.yes,it may be too sad for sensitive viewers--but isnt that what really happened to the many pets---and PEOPLE-that were left behind? the point of the commercial was to shock people into realising,if something like this occurs, they had better have a plan.life is full of harsh realities, best to face them head-on,and prepare for any eventuality.

i havent seen it but the sad truth is that hundreds maby thousands of animal would have died in that disaster. Terrible but true. I think the point of the commercial is to have a plan to save you pets in the event of a disaster.

I think all of the anti-drug commercials are the most disgusting lies ever told and when the kids who believe them now find out what a bunch of BS they are, they will go hogwild and try every drug they get their hands on.

No I haven't seen it. It probably wasn't the greatest thing to watch but I think they were trying to evoke empathy and get the watcher to do what they were suggesting in the commercial.

Um, yeah, horrible. Actually someone I know here left their kitten in the closet so it would not run away. The house took on 10ft of water, and they found kitty dead in the closet. So yeah it is something people should think about. It did happen.
