NO!!!
flea collars have killed MANY cats, kittens, dogs and pups and should NEVER be used
if she has fleas you should comb through her fur with a fur comb and have sticky tape with you to stick any fleas you find to it... vaccumm and wash all bedding and brush this way daily..
spay your dog as soon as possible being unspayed means lots more health risks to her

NO, don't put a flea collar on her. If she has fleas give her a flea bath, NOT Hartz brand. Then spray her bed and all areas with a good flea spray. One flea can lay 500 eggs and give you dog tape worms. They are nasty little creatures. They can kill a puppy from the blood sucking.Get the yard sprayed and kill them. There are products, yard spray and house spray made by Virbac that can help kill them. The house stuff is called Knockout. You can cut up the flea collar and put it in the vacuum cleaner so that any that get sucked up will die.

I wouldn't put anything on her at the moment. She is going to be covered in puppies for the next 6-8 weeks. Once you begin to ween them (6-8 weeks) then go ahead, but I wouldn't give her anything until then. Oh and make sure she continues eating puppy chow so that she is getting enough nutrients for herself and the 10 puppies. Just curious is this her first litter? What kind of dog is it? Good Luck with the pups:)

no... do not use flea collars at all...... they can harm the mom and worse, harm the puppies (they don't typically take care of the fleas, just in that area that the collar is on the dog...) call your vet and ask what a safe alternative would be for your dog so that it wont harmm the puppies at all...
good luck and hope all goes well
congratulations....

Here is the best thing for you to do. There is a company that produces all natural products for getting rid of fleas. They have a shampoo and a spray that really works. I was amazed!! The company is called Ark Naturals. They have a website and you can see where they sell it close to you or order on line. Go to www.arknaturals.com. I swear by this stuff and no chemicals which is best for all our pets and the environment.

Frontline plus is approved for use in pregnant and nursing dogs... your best bet is to buy a tube of that and put it on her... it's very safe and you should be able to get it without a prescription. It doesn't require one. You can find it kinda cheap on online pet supply catalogs and on ebay. http://www.kvvet.com http://www.petedge.com are two of the bet pet supply places in the US.

No - But it is either frontline or revolution that can be used on pregnant or nursing dogs. You will have to get it at the vet so they will tell you which one.
