If you sit there and eat, food from your hands probably gets onto the couch. Even if it is just grease or Dorito fingers, they will lick it off.

I don't know, this is a question that has been haunting me as well. I have four dogs and my couches aren't new but are clean and in good condition and my dogs lick the couch too. ??? I'll let you know if I figure it out. Good Luck :)

your dog probly lickes the couch because the fabric most likely has salt in it. all animals and people need salt, and dogs need it too. so it's okay for ur dog to lick the couch. i wood recomend you getting some food wth a higher salt intake.

most likely there is something on the couch ur dog finds attractive... salt, food, whatever.... unless it is really bothering u, or u want him to stop, it's not a big deal....
