I have two chihuahuas and both love to stretch themselves and then drag themselves around on the carpet. They pull their bodies around by using their front legs. It's so cute to watch. Are they scratching their bellies or stretching or are WE being trained to watch and drool at say "ohhh, you're so cute" ?

She is a year old, a cocker spaniel. Good natured, easy going and pretty sweet. She loves my bed but as she is so often dirty, I won't let her up. Is she being defiant, marking territory or what. I'm almost out of patience with her.

My Sugar has serious gas. I've had her to the vet to make sure she is healthy and all is very good. But she passes gas constantly and the stench is horrible. I can't imagine that she is comfortable and am afraid that her tummy is bothering her. I guess it's my human paranoia and knowing how gas effects my body.

Can anyone enlighten me on if this is making her uncomfortable or a way to help reduce this problem?

My in-laws got a golden retriever (full blooded) from a horrible kennel in Missouri. They don't seem to see that the conditions were that bad. Their dog was extremely thin and she has been cage bound her entire life. She's afraid of everything and has severe emotional issues. The problem is- she was in the best shape of all the dogs in this hell hole. What do you all suggest? I can't let this go by when these poor animals are suffering and these people are breeding more and making money off of it. It makes me sick.

I have a pet dog. Few minutes ago I had a fight with my dad, who was trying to use a chair to threaten my dog as if he was beating my dog. II will definately assume that this is a abusing case. But neither I want to make a complain to the police etc... If I were to complain my parents will be involved in the jail! If that happens, I wouldn't have anyone to take care of me! Can I anyone help me out in this cornered issue. I need a solution badly because it's really heart paining!

What should I do???
I'm a huge animal lover and I don't want to see this puppy end up like her last dog.
Nakita, her old pomeranian; died from ignorance. She tied her to a tree outside, last winter, with no food or shelter and it was raining. Nakita tangled herself up and stray dog came up and mangled her. The woman didn't even care.
Right now she has no time to care for such a high maintenance dog, with college and work.
This woman can't even care for herself. I asked her why she wanted the dog and she replied: "Don't you think I'd look cute walking around with a Paris Hilton puppy, all the guys would love me and think I'm so adorable."
She's self absorbed, and quite ugly. Not to be mean, but she is.
That is the only reason why she's getting this puppy, to make herself look good. Not to love and care for it. That's cruel!

I'm sorry if I seem selfish, I just don't want this puppy to get hurt.
What should I do if she gets the poor creature?
Please help me save this puppy's life!

I have a 7 month old Maltese and He is not a outside dog. We don't let him outside because our area is bad for fleas and we don't want him to have them. So we use puppy pads for him to pee. I can say he is trained with them he always goes on them at our house. He goes on the pad and squats and pees on it. Now the other day my mother wanted to watch him and she called me at work telling me that my dog had lifted his leg to pee on three of her chairs. She doesn't own other dogs. Wanted to know if there was a way to teach him not to lift his leg and always squat. I also heard if I would neuter him he wouldn't lift his leg to pee. any help???

I really wanted a puppy, but my parents won't get me one. So, I've decided to wait until I get older. Do you know if Harvard University or any other colleges for ppl training to be a doctor, accepts dogs in the dorm? If so, which ones? And also, do you think it would be a good idea for me to get a dog in college? Why or why not?

I have two dogs and one of them licks like mad. He licks his paws, clothes, feet, shoes, furniture, and he does not stop. He'll sit with my wife and start licking her pants leg, and he'll keep at it for as long as she'll let him, even trying to get back if she pushes him away. I've heard of 'hard licker' before, but this is ridiciulous!

Please note: earlier question about having him lick my back hair was a JOKE but this one is semi-serious. I do want to know, but out of idle curiousity.

I've heard of some people using some horrifying methods of putting their dogs down...the sheffield's box and some sort of chamber thing. I'm having a hard time believing these methods are true, but I couldn't find any information online to discredit it. Could someone tell me if these really are existing ways to put animals down, or is it a hoax of some kind?
