My in-laws got a golden retriever (full blooded) from a horrible kennel in Missouri. They don't seem to see that the conditions were that bad. Their dog was extremely thin and she has been cage bound her entire life. She's afraid of everything and has severe emotional issues. The problem is- she was in the best shape of all the dogs in this hell hole. What do you all suggest? I can't let this go by when these poor animals are suffering and these people are breeding more and making money off of it. It makes me sick.

Call the S.P.C.A. or the police or sheriff's office. I don't know about Missouri but here in Texas, that's a puppy mill & is against the law. It is rather sickening isn't it? I've been working with abused & abandoned animals for over 30 years...it never ceases to amaze me at how cruel people can be to God's creatures that we are supposed to be taking care of!

Also call any animal or humane shelters near you...they should be able to help or to tell you who to call or where to go to get help. good luck. I hope those peoeple get what they deserve.

Don't wait....report it now!

Report Animal Abuse

Our rescues and investigations department:
An indispensable resource for the people and animals of Missouri

Our determined staff of men and women is dedicated to saving animals. They personally touch the lives of thousands of helpless and voiceless animals throughout Missouri every year, filling the gap between the laws that protect animals and the enforcement of those laws. These duties would otherwise fall upon the highway patrol, sheriff departments and police officers who do not typically have the equipment or experience with which to handle animals.

The Humane Society of Missouri’s rescues and investigations department is divided into two units:

* St. Louis division, whose officers respond to emergency calls in St. Louis City and County for sick or injured animals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
* Statewide division, whose investigators handle cases in the remaining 114 Missouri counties

While each division is unique, both have the same goal: to ensure that the basic needs of Missouri’s animals are met and to improve their situation through education or intervention if they are not.

Be a hero to an animal. Report suspected animal abuse or neglect by calling (314) 647-4400 or report anonymously online.

I live in Missouri, and the best way to report is to notify the Missouri Humane Society directly. I don't have the number right off hand, but do a search and it should come up. If not, look up the number to any animal shelter in MO and call one. They will have the number for you.

I'd say start by calling the law enforcement in the area. They should be able to direct you to the proper authorities. Don't wait, the dogs are suffering!

find ur local pet shelter or animal controle and tell them they will post notes on their property to clean it up or they will be fined, and if they dont they will remove their license for owning a kennel and take their own animals away so they cant hurt anymore animals.

Sounds like a puppy mill to me, I would call the police, or at least the better business bureau.

You can call animal control, or the local humane society. That happens often in puppy mills, it's disgusting.
