Hershey. A sweet, chocolate drop. I know that chocolate is brown but it's dark so a black lab would be consistent with the darkness.

I've got a black Lab named Oakley... no clue why or how we came up with that. I've known Labs named Bandit, Molly, Jack (black jack), Baxter, Belle, Fletcher (Fletch), Dakota, Cooper... tons of names out there! Good luck with your new dog! :)

Well... you can pick an over popular name that will call ten different dogs at the dog park, like Cody, etc...
Or something unique, less common... like:
Sabbath,
Beard,
Bastard,
Magic,
8-ball,
Limo,
Priest (if white patch on neck),
Judge,
Guinness,
Carbon,
Ebony (fem),
Panther,
Ninja...

I have to say "Pete" because we had a black lab and his name was Pete. He was awesome -- so if there's anything in a name. He got big REALLY FAST. He'd lay on the ground and kids would jump all over him, sit on him, pull his ears, etc......that beautiful dog just sat there -- didn't even try to move. They're GREAT animals.

don't go by it's color, go by it's personality! a lot of ppl are say'n stuff like, shadow, midnight, and crap like that. if you lab is playful, name it charlie, if he is more serious u should name bruits or something like that. what I'm try'n to say is is that your lab is just a puppy, it won't understand theses complicated names that they tell you.
