We took in a stray dog we have had her about 45 days. We thought she might have had puppies in the past. Her teats in the back are now leaking white fluid looks like milk. Could she now be pregnant ? We have never had a female dog what other signs are there for pregnancy.

She is only a puppy, but she will always lay under my chair, at my feet and when I take her for a walk she is always by my side. Are these signs that she considers me to be the dominant figure in the house. the kids get annoyed when she does this. I am also the one who feeds her, walks etc....?

We just got our 8 week old puppy a few days ago and the breeder he came from taught him and the others from the litter how to use puppy pads so they don't eliminate in other places in the house. We didn't want to use the pads, so we didn't put any down at first, which resulted in two #2 accidents. So we put down a pad to see what happened, and he went on the pad.

The trouble now is that he will only go #2 on the pad... he pees outside regularly when we have him out. But even if he is starting to go #2 on the pad and we pick him up and usher him outside, he'll stop going, play for a bit, then run back to the house and paw at the door to get in. We've tried not letting him back in and encouraging him to stay outside so he'll go, but he just won't go (we've been out with him up to 30 mins from the time we ushered him out). Then, as soon as we get him inside, he'll poop on the puppy pad within 30 seconds. Help!

I've heard that if you steam vegetables for dinner if you give the water from the steamed vegetables to you dog its good for them (better than tap water) because of all the nutrients. is this true? i can't find anything on the interent that confirms this.

She is 15 weeks old, and she is doing really well, but she is still just squatting in the house. She doesn't let me know when she has to go. Does anyone have any suggestions? I would appreciate it!

I am dumbfounded still at the amount of questions here from people who still persit in breeding but don't have a clue about what to do. Surely if you do not intend to show and breed a dog for the better of the breed, why do you not get your dogs sterilized. It costs far little in the end compared to raising an unwanted litter.
Hate the question, but honestly look at the shelters and euthanzia figures to see the results.
Good breeders give all the info you want for pregnancy and whelping if you are bettering the breed, vets are only too happy to help, if you have the money to breed, you have the money to pay a vet. You would not need to ask on the internet.

When you buy dog food or cat food it is often beef or chicken or lamb or tuna, it never seems to be pork. As far as I know, pork is cheaper to buy than beef, so why is this?

I have two pomeranians. One is fine for car travel, she loves it. The other one often gets woozy or sick. Any ideas? We put them up on chairs so they can see out the window. Would removing the chair make a difference? Any serious advice would be helpful because we're going on vacation with a long drive... thanks!

I took my Chihuahua in to be fixed on the 6th, three days later he started coughing, I took him to the emergency vet on the 13th and they informed me that he caught it from the facility he went to to get fixed. I contacted them yesterday to ask for them to either pay me back for the fees I paid for fixing him, or to pay me for the emergency vet fees. They don't seem to think this is their fault. My dog was completely healthy, and had all of his shots when he went in, isn't it their fault that he was sick when he came back out??

We have a German Shorthair Pointer that is almost four years old now. He seems to be getting more and more nervous. He hates loud noises, gun fire, power tools, thunderstorms, etc. We excerise him as much as our schedule allows, but it is getting worse. We are afraid he is going to die of a heart attack. Help!?!

I rent a wall to wall carpeted apartment and I am potty training my dog and, of course, she goes on the rug and the floor. Is this stuff ok to use in a steam cleaner? My kitchen floor is getting an odor also. Will this smell go away?? I alternate bleach mopping with this stuff on the kitchen floor to try to disinfect. This stuff worked great on the mattress, but it seems like its taking a long time to work on the rug and floors. Is this normal, since she keeps going in the same spots?

I'm not a racists. But I have noticed this during my childhood in South Africa, and recently had a black friend from South Africa tell me the same thing in an email.
Is it that the dogs are just barking at them cause their not familiar people in the neighbourhood, or can people truly teach their animals to tell the differance between races?
Do other people experiance this aswell?
