We took in a stray dog we have had her about 45 days. We thought she might have had puppies in the past. Her teats in the back are now leaking white fluid looks like milk. Could she now be pregnant ? We have never had a female dog what other signs are there for pregnancy.

It sounds to me like your new dog is pregnant. Go to this website: http://www.debbiejensen.com - it is packed with useful information about heat, pregnancy, whelping, feeding, weaning, etc. Generally, if she is leaking milk, then she is due to have puppies any day now. Good Luck

Leaking teats are one sign that she is, but if you haven't taken her to a vet yet, now would be a really good time!

ONly way to differ this from false pregnancy is to have an xray taken of her. Then you'll know how many puppies, can ask the vet about puppy care, and birthing.

is her stomach gotten bigger since you took her in, is she eating more than usual or not eating at all, if she was pregnant it only about 20 days to have her puppies so her stomach should be big ... try putting your hand on her stomach and see if you can feel movement.... check this site for other signs of pregnancy

well if u see her getting bigger and bigger around the middle , and starts getting very lathargic , and then starts producing baby puppies , then I think you can pretty much agree that she is pregnant.
