Mine is about a year and a half old and he did and sometimes does the same thing. I don't know if urs is like mine but mine is super hyper active and he snorts when he gets all worked up..its like he is trying to breath faster then he is able so its like he is gasping for breath...I have heard its very common in the breed.

Does she act like shes choking on something or trying to clear her throat? If it sounds like that, you may not have to worry, since dogs at this age get into everything. Sometimes they do that when they chew on a piece of hair and it tickles their throat. My lab mix pup did that a bit first off and I called the vet. They told me that if there is no obstruction, don't panic, but if it gets to the point that it is out of control, then call the vet. Make sure you go to the vet for her "puppy wellness" appointments and ask any questions you have at that time. Oh, and make sure you do not give your dog any string-like toys. Those strings can cause trouble if they get caught in the throat or stomach. Found out on my first dog.
