I have two pomeranians. One is fine for car travel, she loves it. The other one often gets woozy or sick. Any ideas? We put them up on chairs so they can see out the window. Would removing the chair make a difference? Any serious advice would be helpful because we're going on vacation with a long drive... thanks!

I suggest that you take both doggies for short jaunts around the neighborhood and try different seating (sleeping arrangements). Your car sick prone dog may be more comfortable lying on the car floor and just sleeping or it could be happier snuggled into a blanket on the seat or even in the dog carrier.

No matter what, it would probably be best to get a couple of pills from the vet's for car sickness. Your vet may be able to give you a low dose tranquilizer that will make your doggie a lot more comfortable and lower the stress level for all involved.

For longer trips your veterinarian will give you a mild sedative sometimes even Valium is used in severe cases. Try taking your dog on regular little trips but make that they end up at a fun place or that the dog gets a reward at the end of the trip. This way they don't dread the trip or get into a state when they just see the car.
I have gotten my GSD puppy so far that she only gets sick on bumpy roads. (This has taken 5 months so be ready for it to take a while)
Some dogs even even become ok from one day to the next.

You can go to the vet and get yourself a tablet called ACP, it will make them sleep like babies and they won't even know that they were in a car, there are no side effects from this drug and depending on how far you are travelling it normally lasts about eight hours thenit starts wearing off. It is called motion sickness, and it does not matter weather you remove the seat or not, it is the movement of the car that causes them to feel ill. Get the tablets and your problem will be solved

I had a girlfriend that used to cut a gravol in half and give it to her dog. It slept all the way and didn't get sick.
I don't know if that's bad for the dog or not, but it's an idea.

don't feed them before the car trip. my dog gets car sick and he yaks everytime, but if i don't feed him, he's fine. just feed them when you get where you're going. water is ok. make sure you give them plenty.

Avoid feeding them for 12 hours before traveling. Make sure you give them plenty of water before, and if possible during, the trip.

One possible solution would be not to feed them several hours before traveling. The second suggestion would be to go to your vet and see if he/she can prescribe something. Good luck!
