We have a German Shorthair Pointer that is almost four years old now. He seems to be getting more and more nervous. He hates loud noises, gun fire, power tools, thunderstorms, etc. We excerise him as much as our schedule allows, but it is getting worse. We are afraid he is going to die of a heart attack. Help!?!

The very first thing you shoudl do before buying a "method" from a tv actor, is have your dog thoroughly gone ever by a good vet. It may be that he's deveoping something that is causing hypertension. Ceasar Milan makes for good TV, but you've never seen the out takes, where he's given up or gotten himself bitten because he thought "he knew it all".
GSP's require an awful lot of excersize. Do you think he is getting enough. A real good rule of thumb is, that a tired and sleeping dog, causes no mischief.

"Cesar's Way" by Cesar Millan (National Geographic Channel's - Dog Whisperer) is a great book and will help.

His (Cerar's) first season is on DVD...I promise, if you use his techniques (animal friendly) it will work for your dog.

Cesar's motto: I rehabilitate dogs and I train people. It's true, we nurture (sometimes unknowingly) the very traits we don't want in our dogs.

Best wishes for you and your dog :)

Dogs are usually eager to learn, and the key to success is good communication. Your dog needs to understand how you’d like her to behave and why it’s in her best interest to comply with your wishes.
